Unspoken Blessing

I ask the Lord what I'm to do with this
This pure and holy blessing from Him
I must wait, though there seems no answer
For the World will try to step in

I ask You Lord: What am I to do with this?
With Your pure blessing and heavenly gift?
We are protected, for You have shown us Your will
This emptiness must be kept empty
For You to fulfill

For the World will try to step in
When we reject You
Their presence fills us
Deep within

Help us to silently stand faithful
On You await
To You only, we keep our heart-book open
For Your light and power to be written
Across our pages

The world has its own ink
But we wish to bear Your mark
Temptation weighs on us to sink
So we cry out and give You our heart

“Speak to us, O Jesus
Teach us how to be faithful
May we not doubt, but believe
And trust in Him who is able

Keep that which we have committed
To You against that day
You are my Savior and my Lover
You alone can show me the way

Guide me by Your hand and shine Your light
What I do not grasp, may I not walk
My own line
In the lack of understanding, I seek Your sight
Temper my wounded steal
And make my wheat fine

The world envies Your power
And they covet my love
But they are ones whose hands
Shed innocent blood

Harlots and vampires disguised
As tender friends
Prepare Your love before me
And Your Bride, defend

Before You, this vessel will stand empty and cherish You
For You will fill me up
Your love for me is like wine
That takes me in
And overflows my cup

I wait on Thee, my Lover
Keep me from sin and woe
Though I do not have the answer
You will show me the way
The way in which I should go
