You're getting a double cuz I love this story and I'm excited for you guys to meet Skye. And I can and haven't in a long time. Love you guys!!! Enjoy. 🖤
——————"Any leads yet, Skye?" Derek asks, stopping in the doorway to the bathroom behind her.
"No, I decided to get all done up just to lay on your couch and fill out more applications." She turns, rolling her eyes at her best friend.
"Get this job so I can have my couch back for enjoying and not your use as a bed." He grins.
"I want to. The application talked about the job including quite a bit of traveling and an adorable little girl. But it also comes with a NDA, so I don't know what you'll get to know about this job if I do get it."
"Live in again right?"
"Live in, travel, one little girl, It's going to be amazing if I can swing it."
"You are the best nanny in LA, you'll nail this interview, Skye, don't worry about that."
"Thanks for the confidence boost. I'll be home in a while." Skye grins, slipping out of the bathroom past him and heading for her car.
Skye can't help but become nervous as she enters the building her interview is at. It's a talent agency, and for some reason that seems daunting. As if this interview is an audition instead of a simply an interview.
"How can I help you today?" The receptionist asks as she enters.
"I have an interview with Miss Lauderdale." She smiles, trying not to show her nerves.
"Left elevator, third floor, follow the hall all the way to the end. I'll let her know you are on your way up."
"Thank you." She nods, heading left to find an elevator.
The door marked by a small sign saying C. Lauderdale is stark white, and somehow even more intimidating than the building itself had been.
"Thanks, Holly!" Skye jumps slightly as a voice comes from a door to her left, a gorgeous tall blonde stepping out of it before closing it behind herself. She seems somewhat familiar but Skye doesn't have time to wonder why.
"Oh, hi. You must be Skye, I'm Crystal. Come on in." Her smile is large and friendly, big blue eyes sparkling.
"Skye Daniels." She nods, following the blonde into the office.
"Okay, first off. Thank you for being willing to meet so soon, the job in question is one that needs filled fairly quickly." Crystal smiles, motioning for Skye to take a seat on the beautiful couch, taking a seat in a chair across from her.
"It was actually no issue. My last job ended sort of suddenly and I'm hoping to land a new one as quickly as I can."
"Well, we may just be able to help each other out." Crystal grins, pulling something up on the tablet in her hand, "Now you may have realized I'm not a nanny interviewer usually. But one of my best friends asked for some help and I couldn't let him down. So please, relax and be yourself, I want to get to know who will be taking care of my niece, no fronts."
"I'm a little nervous, but I'll do my best. I'll definitely be honest though."
"Good. Alright so it says you have ten plus years of child care experience, can you explain what all that includes?"
"Um, so about five years of professional nanny care, my last family had me sign and NDA though, their letter of recommendation was sent with the application. Prior to that, um... I was raised by a single mom, and had to do a lot to help care for my two younger brothers while she worked to make ends meet. My dad walked out when I was thirteen, haven't heard from him since."
