"Crystal, hey, what's up?" Calum answers her call as he leaves the studio about 7pm.
"I found her."
"Found who?" He chuckles, climbing into the drivers seat of his car.
"Nika's new nanny. She's even more perfect for the job than Diane was. And Nika likes her."
"What? It's been like three days."
"She's getting Nika ready for bed as we speak. She made shy little Nika comfortable quickly and then they sort of became friends. I like her credentials and her vibe. She's going to work out, I can feel it."
"I'm on my way home, I guess I'll meet her when I get there. What's her name?"
"Skye. She's about your age and a lot of fun. I definitely think I could become her friend when we are all living close together on tour and such. She'll fit."
"Good. I'm be home soon, don't have her put Nika to bed yet, I want to see her for a minute before she goes down."
"Alright, we'll see you in a few minutes."
"Thanks again, Crys, for all your help this week."
"No problem. Anything for my cute goddaughter. And for you, Cal."
"See you soon." Calum smiles as the call disconnects. Crystal sounds excited, and if Crystal thinks she's good enough to take care of Nika, Calum is not going to argue.
Pulling into the garage twenty minutes later Calum can't help but smile as a small squeal reaches him from inside the house.
"Who's making my princess laugh?" He calls out as he enters the home.
"Daddy!" Nika comes sprinting around the corner and straight into his arms.
"Hi, punk princess. Did you have a good day with aunty Crysie?" He asks as he stand back up with her in his arms.
"New friend!" She bounces, nodding her head excitedly.
"You made a new friend?" He fakes a surprised gasp.
"Skye! New friend is Skye!" She giggles, her little hand extending to point out the stranger in the room.
Calum is shocked slightly as he looks up to take in this perfect nanny. Her dark hair and hazel eyes a noticeably pretty combination, she's not really short, but not tall either, and dressed in plain clothes, I simple pair of blue jeans and a T-shirt.
"You must be Skye." He smiles, walking forward and extending his hand, "I'm Calum, um, Calum Hood."
"Skye Daniels." She smiles, shaking his hand firmly. "I didn't know Calum Hood had a kid."
"No one knows Calum Hood has a kid unless Calum Hood has told them so." He chuckles back slightly nervously.
"I like that. And I really like your daughter. She's adorable."
"Thank you. Let me get her all tucked into bed and we can talk some more." He nods.
"Of course. I can make some tea if you'd like, while you do."
"Okay, I like her." He grins quickly at Crystal who simply nods.
Cuddling Nika closer to his chest, he spins to head down the hall. "What do you think, Nika Joy? Do you like Skye?" He asks his little girl as he sets her on the princess sheets of her bed.
"Ya. She nice." She giggles, accepting the Hei Hei stuffed animal he lifts into her arms.
"Think she could take good care of you when daddy's working?" Her little head nods softly as a yawn escapes her lips.
