Silent space
into the eyes of
a similar daydream,
and I could've sworn that
I felt a little punch
as I took my head
out of the clouds
after the fog
of your toxins;
I felt your pillowy kiss
atop my lonely cheek
all over again,
emptying my flesh
of all that's been living
and tickling my eyes
a little too compulsively...
My heart broke apart once more,
and I remembered how it felt
to have a part of my body
-my nest-
be ripped right from me
without taking the time
to process the pain.
