Electing The Alpha

Chapter 14:

Nicole POV
After watching the television for like two hours. It grew dark already. The day had gone by really fast. Trina peeps through the window.

"Its getting cold" she says and rubs her arms.
I look at her and a small smile graces my lips.
"Its fifty minutes past seven. Like by now we are on our was to the party" she adds and I shudder but she doesn't notice.
"Yeah! But I think we should go to bed" I quickly say before she tries to convince me to take her to the party.
She nods and we both enter our bedrooms. As soon as I enter, I lock my bedroom door so that no one will come in especially Trina. I don't want her to know I betrayed her and went for the party

I went to my closet and pulled my big old teddy bear out. It was still fluffy and cute. My mom bought it for me on my fifth birthday and since then, I had been sleeping with it but I stopped recently. It was a bit dirty and I sneeze because of the dust.

I hit it and it talks.
"Hello! I'm Boomer! The Teddy bear" the toy says and I laugh. I thought the batteries were dead and it wouldn't talk again. I hit it again
"Pleasure to meet you! What's your name?" It says again and I giggle. I really loved hitting it when I was young. I liked it when it spoke to me and I would usually say my name whenever it asks for it.

I take it and place it in my bed as if I'm the one sleeping so that no one will notice I'm gone.
I get into a black  tracksuit and a pair of white sneakers. I remove my braids and my hair flows down to my waist in curls no longer braided.
I grab my comb and dress it a bit. Then I quickly grabbed my purse. There was a little money inside. I smiled.

I open my window. It leads to the backyard. The cold breeze of the evening hits my face.
"Good bye Boomer! Sleep tight!" I say and giggle referring to the teddy bear who was in my bed making it seem I was the one lying in.
I jump out of the window and land safely in the backyard. I tip toe and make sure Trina or my parents do not see me.

My parent's bedroom light was off but for some reason I do not know, Trina's bedroom light was still on. I check and she's staring out of the window! Shit! I bet she's looking at the moon and stars! I stand straight hiding behind a tree spying on her for like an hour before she closes her window and drapes her curtains. Her bedroom light goes off and I rejoice inwardly.

I quickly ran out of the backyard to the front of the house. Then I ran away from my house. I felt so free and at ease! I don't have to hide from Trina and my parents anymore! But I was really late for the party. It was 10:07pm. Am sure Tigress would have arrived already.
I took a cab and gave the driver the address to Troy's club house.

We got there at exactly 10:27pm and I paid the driver before getting out of the car and making my way into the house.
I spot a few girls in bikini walking all over the place and most of the boys were topless. Its a pool party isn't it? What was I expecting to see?
I entered the hall and as usual, the place smells like alcohol.
I walk past all the things going on there and make it to our meeting area.

"Nikki!" Troy says surprised when he sees me.
"Hey!" I say breathless.
"I knew you would come! But what got you to change your mind?" He asks.
I sit in the couch and the others stare at me.
"Oh Nikki! You look like you just ran  a marathon? And you're in tracksuit?" Kimberly blurts.
"Yeah" Danny agrees.
Aaron is quiet.
"I had to escape from Trina. I lied about not coming Troy! And as for the marathon! I did have one" I reply
Kimberly smirks and Troy chuckles.

"Here! Have some wine to cool your heart" Troy says and gives me a glass of red wine.
I take a sip and ask the question that kept pressing my mind.
"Where's Tigress?" I ask everyone in general.
"She's not in yet! She said she will be here by midnight! We are all waiting" Danny says.
I sigh.
