[A/N: okay so, you've got the last Sangeeta's POV yesterday, and this time you're getting the last Shreya's POV, please miss them.. cause I already do ]
Shreya's P O V:
I hurriedly dialed her name on my phone.
"Hello? Sangeeta? I've got it.""Seriously? Was he angry?", She asked.
"Um, not like that. But at first it seemed impossible to make him extend it. Like, he had decided he was not going to do it. Then I pleaded.
Like, please Sir! I need a week more. So finally, agreed."
"That's a good news. Will you be late today? May I finish packing on my own then?", Sangeeta asked.
"Yeah.. I guess I'll be a little late. I've to finish the things I've in hand. And the boss was not at all happy that I suddenly requested my leave to extend from one week to two."
"Okay, then. Come home safely."
I hang up the call and turned to find the location of the dustbin. Then I felt a tap on my arm.
"Hey, two weeks will be long! ", Shivam whined.
"Hmm.. that's true. But not long enough to meet family, cousins, friends, eat, sleep and have outings, boy! I have so many things to do.
And moreover, it's a wedding invitation. So I will need this much time."
He made a pouty face to me.
"Okay!" , He lowered his face and looked back towards me again, "leaving tomorrow right? Happy journey!" And gave me a teddy bear hug."Ahh.. okay okay.. why like this all of a sudden? I'm not leaving for ever.
And besides, we need a break too. We fight over silly things every third day. We should take this break as an advantage."
His eyes widened all of a sudden.
"What do you mean by break? I-- I mean if you don't feel empty or don't miss me after this break, you're going to just -- " he didn't finish his sentence, leaving in lips parted."No, I didn't say that. Come on, there's nothing to be afraid of. I'm just saying. It's always good to take a break and start afresh. Like beginning again isn't a bad idea.. " and I punched his arm softly.
He nodded. "Let's go back! Tiffin hours are over, I guess", I said.
And as I started to move my feet, I felt a tug on my wrist as he grabbed it from behind. I looked back to face him.
"You'll come back right?" , He asked, "back to me?". The softness in his eyes was reaching all the way to my heart.
I smiled the most genuinely I could, and interwining his fingers with mine, I answered,
"I will! "
***************
They never preferred flights.
They loved train journeys more.
As they found out their seats on the right compartment, they managed to settle down after putting their luggages properly.
Saurav came along with them. Unfortunately Shivam couldn't as he had to go meet a client.
"So it'll take 30 hours in an approx to reach Howrah! Then you guys should be there within 9pm tomorrow. Will you get any cab or taxi that late?" , Saurav asked anxiously.
"Don't worry I called Papa. He'll send the driver to pick us up", Sangeeta said.
"I've got enough snacks for 30 hours I guess! And enough playlists too! ", Shreya chuckled.
"Sure! For me, I guess I'll have some good naps." , Sangeeta commented.
"Whatever you guys, just make sure not to get off at any station to buy anything, coz ", looking at Shreya specifically, he continued, "you actually need nothing. Nothing. "
Both of the girls giggled looking at the bag fool of snacks and other food items.
"And take care of the luggages. Don't let any stranger inside. And take turns while sleeping. Don't do it together please."
"Geez, Saurav! You sound like my father now", Shreya narrowed her eyes with light grin on her face.
"But you have to listen to me."
Sangeeta cut him midway. "We'll take care Saurav. Don't worry. And signals are not good normally, when the train is running... "
"Yeah, so don't call us numerous times and tell that idiot too. You guys have a tendency to give successive calls, like rainfalls. My goodness" Shreya finished the sentence Sangeeta initialized, with a palm covering her forehead.
The other two laughed at her chirpy nature.
"Ah, and make sure to catch up with Shivam from time to time. Take care of you two and Mitali too."
Sangeeta added."Okay, then! It's almost time. I'm leaving. Make sure to call me when you reach." He said and walked towards the gate to get down. He was there inside the compartment with the two girls.
No other passenger boarded the train from Pune junction. Maybe they would board it from somewhere in the middle.
The train started to move in a very slow pace. Sliding the curtain of the window, they watched the passengers, coolies going backwards.
There was Saurav waving at them from a distance.
Finally, they had started their journey. We were coming back to whatever unsolved things they left in the past, the bonds, the friendships. But they had to return back too, because here, too, some of their adored persons would be waiting.
It felt so happy but at the same time a little sad. What a Paradox!
If I could fly, I'd be coming right back home to you
I think I might give up everything, just ask me to
Pay attention, I hope that you listen 'cause I let my guard down
Right now I'm completely defenselessFor your eyes only, I'll show you my heart
For when you're lonely and forget who you are
I'm missing half of me when we're apart
Now you know me, for your eyes onlyFor your eyes only!
[A/N: a big hug to everyone who have experienced going back to their friends, their homes.
And I really suggest you to play this song "if I could fly" by one direction after this. I'm sure you'll feel great.
And I have a lot of things to say about this story and my evolution while writing it. So I'll be publishing an author's note after this.
And again thank you from my heart.
Please support Conflation too!
Love you all! ]
