"Excuse me, Professor." Malfoy chimed in, sharing the same shock as Artemis, "Perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said the five of us."

"Indeed, you heard me correctly, Mr Malfoy, however noble yours and Ms Krii's intentions, you both were out of bed after hours. You will join your classmates in detention." Professor McGonagall said. "Now get back to bed, all of you."

Artemis couldn't help but notice the Gryffindors' cheeky grins as Malfoy sagged when Professor McGonagall punished them as well.

A hundred and fifty points lost for the Gryffindors; Things couldn't get much better than this. The year was closing to an end soon and Slytherin was in the lead by a couple hundred points, there was no catching up this time no matter how many questions Granger answered correctly.

Points were no longer a major concern to just the Gryffindors, but to the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws as well. All three of them were looking forward to see Slytherins downfall as the Gryffindors racked up points but their faith was destroyed in a mere twenty-four hours.

Artemis and the rest of the Slytherins made it a part of their daily activity to taunt Potter and his friends by raising their goblets as they sat down at breakfast or thanking them on the way to their classes.

"Don't get too excited today." Artemis said as she spread butter on her toast.

"Why shouldn't I be?" Draco asked impatiently,

"Because they're going to be sending us into the Dark Forest for detention."

Malfoy choked so hard on his juice that he sent it flying everywhere.

Malfoy's mood was ruined for the rest of the day and went out of his way to taunt almost everyone in the castle. He huffed and pouted childishly as the day went on. The only highlight was the daily sweets he received but they didn't help his attitude much.

Artemis didn't care though. This was punishment for ruining her birthday.

The moon was full and pale and underneath it was Filch leading Artemis, Malfoy, Potter, Weasley, and Granger across the grounds.

Artemis walked, arms crossed, kicking whatever stone crossed her path while Malfoy was jumping high into the air after every sound.

"A pity they let the old punishments die. Was a time, detention would find you all hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons." Filch said, leering at them.

Artemis shot him an ugly look from behind. Malfoy's sour mood must've rubbed off on her because for the rest of the walk, she thought about nothing but curses and hexes she could use on Filch as well as Malfoy. It was his fault they were caught up in this mess anyway.

As they reached the yard, they found Hagird sitting outside a fire with a crossbow and an abnormally large hound beside him.

"A sorry lot this is, Hagrid." Filch said. He squinted and saw tears running down Hagrid's cheek. Filch was in no mood to be someone's therapist not after getting the joy in bringing students to their death sentence.
