Unlike the other girls, Artemis had hardly gotten any sleep. She was the first out of bed, followed by Pansy. As usual, the dorm was filled with silence as they got ready for their day.
To everyone's surprise, it was Tracey who broke the silence.
"Does anyone know what 'chamber' the writing meant?" she asked hesitantly.
Everyone looked at one another and shrugged.
"Stop taking everything so seriously, Tracey" Pansy said, "It was probably some stupid first year pulling a Halloween prank."
"I don't think they're smart enough to come up with something like that on their own," Artemis added as she pulled up her socks. "Maybe they had help from someone."
This didn't comfort Tracey. She looked like she had something else to say but decided against it. Despite Pansy's words, Artemis could tell she was reassuring herself more than Tracey.
Artemis scuttled out of the room, not being able to take the tension any longer. On her way down, she spotted Draco slicking back his hair while Zabini watched him, trying to contain his laughter.
"Oi, Krii." Draco called.
"Morning to you too, Malfoy," Artemis replied sleepily, "You missed a spot." she pointed lazily to the side of her head.
It took a few extended minutes before Draco was done prettifying himself up. They walked down to the Great Hall for breakfast but this morning didn't have the same warm atmosphere. The ceiling was enchanted to display a grey sky with the most clouds they've seen all year.
"Move it, first year," Draco snarled. The first year gave a small mouse-like squeak and hurried away.
As Artemis helped herself to some pancakes, she noticed the whispers coming from the Ravenclaw table. A group of them were sending apprehensive looks towards the Slytherin table.
One thing about being in Slytherin that Artemis had learned was to expect to be blamed first when something bad happens at Hogwarts.

"Saint Potter." Draco growled as he and Artemis passed the three Gryffindors. "Why is everyone blaming Slytherin when the evidence is right there in front of them? Potter definitely had something to do with the writing."
"I didn't know you gave two damns about the writing," Artemis said casually.
Draco seemed hesitant to give an answer back. He shook his head and grunted. "I don't. It's just that that stupid prank gave Slytherin a bad reputation for no reason. Wait until my father hears about this."
"You're talking as if Slytherin didn't already have a bad name. And just so you know, I-- Potter and I are now civil so I don't want anything to do with your petty little fights." she informed him.
