Platform nine and three quarters seemed way more busier this year than the previous. Students new and old occupied the platform, anxious to return for the new year.
Through the barrier, Artemis Krii and her family of now four, rushed into the brick wall between numbers nine and ten; Artemis white knuckled and holding onto her trolley tightly. Her stomach gave nervous somersaults the closer the clock got to eleven.
The summer was rough to Artemis as she was grounded for a majority of it due to her mischief that she had gotten herself into last year. In addition to the grounding, her new sibling had arrived, born in the autumn cold. A Leo child, Apollo.
The little boy was now everywhere Artemis went whether it was to the bathroom, to the kitchen, to the garden, and even to the trolley station.
Artemis's mother, Levana Krii-Hearst, had slimmed out since the birth of Apollo and was now holding her son dressed in blue trousers and a plain black shirt with her free arm hooked onto her husband, Quinn Hearst while her sister, Duchess, sent small glances of jealousy.
As they all strolled along the platform quietly, surveying all the familiar and unfamiliar faces that surrounded them. They had about ten minutes before boarding.
Artemis sighed.
"Something the matter?" Duchess asked softly, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Artemis tensed up at the sudden touch but relaxed quickly.
"It's nothing, I just feel like I'm forgetting something." Artemis said.
"You better not be, Artemis." Levana said sternly, her eyebrows narrowing at her daughter. "I gave you constant reminders on what you need."
"I'm not, I'm not." Artemis said now wishing she hadn't said anything at all. "My stomach is just acting up."
Behind Levana, a family with platinum blonde hair and attitude, had just arrived through the brick wall. The Malfoy family.
The somersaults in Artemis's stomach were now tangled up and formed a giant sinking knot. Now slightly sweating, she turned away to hide her face in her hair.
Luckily, the Malfoys were not in a mood to chat with any other families. They moved through the crowds with their noses in the air and waited patiently by the porter, Narcissa Malfoy chatting pleasantly with her son.
"Artemis, look at your mother when she's talking to you." Quinn ordered, looking down at her.
Artemis blinked a few times, processing the reality around her. Her parents were staring down at her, frowning. Levana didn't have as much patience with Artemis anymore since Apollo; She was often exhausted from being a mother again.
Her actions couldn't be blamed however. Apollo was a rather fussy child who craved attention all day, every day and as a normal child does when they don't get something they want, he cried.
