The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was much neater and had a more pleasing smell this year compared to the previous garlic stench last year. The only strange thing in the class, was a large portrait of Lockheart himself... Painting himself.

Professor Quirrel had practically ruined the subject for Artemis, being the Dark Lord and all. She wondered how he was the leader of one of the wizarding world's most dangerous organizations when he couldn't even teach a class of teenagers.

From what she had heard and read about Gilerory Lockheart's abilities, she was reluctantly looking forward to her new class.

Pansy was more than excited to be in a room with the Gilderory Lockheart, professor or not.

Following behind Potter and his friend, Artemis walked beside Pansy to a desk in the front (she requested). The rest of the class entered the class soon after, many of the girls giggling furiously with their faces sore from smiling.

The boys on the other hand, were not sharing the same amount of interest.

All talking came to a stop when a silvery voice introduced itself, "Let me introduce you to your new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher... me!"

Gilderoy-- No-- Professor Lockheart glided down the stairs, smiling greatly at them. A few girls, like Granger, seemed to be in a trance, hanging onto every word that came out of this man's mouth.

Artemis kept track of his accomplishments; Order of Merlin, third class, Honorary Member of the Dark Force League, and five times winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award.

His smile, according to Artemis, gave off more of a rat impression. However, she did have to admit, his teeth were quite shiny.

His smile was now gone and his expression suddenly darkened as he drew his wand.

"Now! Be warned... It is my job to arm you against the foulest creatures known to wziardkind." Professor Lockheart started, his voice dropping.

Finally, something interesting. He turned slowly to the cage next to him, giving it a light tap with his wand.

"You may find yourself facing your worst fears in this room. Know only that no harm can befall you whilst I am here. I must ask you not to scream," His voice was low and serious as he made eye contact with every student in front of him.

Artemis sat on the edge of her seat, hungry to see what was under the cloak, although she doubted it was her worst fear.

For a few moments, Professor Lockheart allowed the tension to build, making students practically fall out of their seats out of anticipation. Then,

WHOOSH!

The cloak was whipped from the cage, revealing dozens of electric blue pixies, all about twenty centimeters tall. They all had pointed, devilish faces and translucent wings and twig-like arms, reaching out.
