FLUMP.With a funny, muffled sort of thump, the three of them landed one after the other onto a thick, yarn like substance. Artemis was panting slightly, looking around frantically. The only light source was from the tiny square trap they had just dived down.
"Woah." Weasley said, "Lucky this plant thing's here, really."
They surveyed the area around them. Stocky black ropes entangled themselves in the room making for a good cushion for any other psychopath who decided to pop their noses into the forbidden third floor.
"My mother's going to have an aneurism once she finds out what I've been doing with you lot. Well don't touch it, Weasley, you don't know what it could--" Artemis started but got cut off by her own scream.
"Woah!" Potter yelped.
The cushion of plants was now twisting itself around them in snakelke tendrils. Artemis shrieked as coils had fastened themselves around her arms silently without her noticing. She watched in horror as the plant had encircled the boys who were fighting against it.
Granger, however, was sitting upright, not moving a muscle.
"Stop moving!" Granger ordered, "All of you!"
"Well, Hermione, that''s a bit difficult--" Potter gasped as a vine tightened around his neck, "--given the circumstances."
"I know but this is Devil's Snare and if you don't it'll only kill you faster!" she said.
"Kill us faster? Oh now I can relax!" Weasley snarled as he strained against the plant's grip that was tightening around his arms.
"You're not very good at calming people down, you know that right?" Artemis shouted at Granger who was taking in breaths.
Artemis took in several deep breaths, copying Granger. Everyone knew she was right, but their instincts were telling them otherwise.
Together, her and Granger sank beneath the surface, vanshining under the plant completely.
"Hermione! Krii!" the boys shouted.
Artemis and Granger had landed a few feet away from each other, just barely a few feet under the Devil's Snare. The plant's killer vines were still visible and moving quicker towards Potter and Weasley.
"Hurry up! Do what she said!" Artemis cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted.
Suddenly, Potter crashed on top of Artemis landing with a heavy thud.
"Ouch! Potter, get off! Your bones just jabbed me in my face!" Artemis snapped and pushed him off. "That moron! It's not that hard to just relax, Weasley!"
"Be quiet, I'm trying to remember how to kill it!" Granger said, pacing around frantically, finger on her mouth and eyebrows furrowed. She began to think out loud, in a sing-song.
