~ Gabriella's POV ~
Two days had passed since Matteo and I went to Jordan and Adrian's house and two days had passed since I last spoke to Matteo.
I think he either got the hint and decided to give me space after I literally jumped out of his car and went inside before he could say anything when he dropped me off. Or, he's just become busy with the mafia since he and Adrian have made up and I'm assuming they have a lot to catch up on now.
Either way he hasn't spoken to me either since that day.
"Do you need anything else Mom?" I handed my mom a cup of water as she took a deep breath and shook her head at me. "No, I'm okay Gabriella. I already told you that you can go, I don't want you to be late."
"Mom it's okay. You needed help, I wasn't going to leave you." She gave me a small smile as she handed me the cup of water and relaxed into her pillows against the headboard of her bed. "I don't like you seeing me like this."
I put the cup on her night stand before taking her hand. "I know it's not nice, but if the chemo is helping then isn't it worth it?"
She nodded her head tiredly as her eyes fluttered shut. "If it allows me more time with my children then it is."
I could tell she was falling asleep, which she usually did after this happened. The side effects of chemotherapy were no joke.
"If you need anything Emilia will be here in a minute with the kids." She nodded her head before I got up from where I was sitting next to her on the bed. Once I left her room I left the door slightly open before I made my way downstairs.
Just as I got to the bottom of the stairs my phone buzzed in my hand and I saw a text from Emilia telling me to open the front door.
"You know you have a key. Use it." She rolled her eyes as she pushed the stroller inside and Justin followed behind her. "I saw your car, I thought I'd take advantage of your presence."
I let her in before I closed the front door and she took Lilly out the stroller, holding her in her arms. "How is she?"
"Not very good, she just threw up again. She's asleep now." As I spoke I reached out and took Justin's arm pulling him into me. He gave me an annoyed look as he focused on the game he was playing on some kind of games device.
"How long do you think she'll sleep for? I'll make her some soup or something."
"A couple of hours maybe?" I shrugged my shoulders as I wrapped my arms around Justin who was still trying to play his game. "You're suffocating me, stop it Gabby."
"No, you never give me a hug." Emilia just chuckled when Justin tried to escape from me again but I tightened my grip on him.
"You can go Gab, I'll be here when you get back and we'll have dinner together."
I nodded my head as I squeezed Justin one more time in my arms before releasing him. As soon as I did he took a few hasty steps away from me giving me a glare as he held a finger out to me. "Never again."
With that he went into the living room while I just let out a chuckle. "Gio should be home too in an hour, don't forget to make enough for him or he'll throw a fit. You know he eats like a pig."
