~ Gabriella's POV ~
"I hate Jordan sometimes."
I couldn't help but let out a laugh as Matteo dropped his gym bag on the floor before he pulled me into his arms. As soon as I was close to him I could smell his fresh aftershave and body wash from when he took a shower at the gym and trust me, it got me feeling all kinds of ways.
"I'm sure you had a good work out with Giovanni though, no?" He just rolled his eyes before he eventually pulled away from me.
"Next time if she wants ice cream tell her to have it at her own house with Adrian. I'm not staying away from here again and I'm especially not staying away from you."
I rolled my eyes at his words as I followed him into the kitchen once he'd picked up his bag again.
"Did you get your dress?" As soon as he mentioned the dress that I chose earlier today, I felt myself become excited for the wedding all over again.
"Yes! Oh Matteo it's so perfect, I can't wait for you to see it." He chuckled at my reaction as he started taking out his dirty clothes from the gym.
Unfortunately now that I was back I would be the one doing his laundry for him again. He did insist he would do it and he usually did it eventually but that was a few days later. I guess that's what happens when you're used to living alone and also so rich that you have multiple of everything so you don't need to worry about washing clothes for a long time.
"Give me a clue, what's it like?"
"It's white." Once again he laughed, this time at my deadpan response. There was no way I was ever telling him anything, he had to wait until I was walking down the aisle to see it.
"Okay, so what did you talk about with Jordan while I was shunned from my own house?" I tilted my head to the side as I watched him put his clothes in a pile on the floor by the washing machine. It was only when he saw the expression on my face that he let out a sigh and put them in the basket instead.
"Well, we actually talked about a lot." He rose an eyebrow at my words. "Like what?"
This was the hard part. Before she left Jordan asked me if I could tell Matteo about her miscarriage. It may sound weird but when she explained that she didn't want me to have to keep any secrets from him especially in regards to his own brother, it made my heart want to burst. She really was one of the kindest people I'd ever met.
"Come and sit with me." This time he frowned as he took my hand which I held out for him before I led him into the living room. Once we were sitting on the couch, I started the story just the way she had told me at the wedding dress shop that morning. At first Matteo seemed confused but once he realised where the story was going, he turned away from me and I could tell by the way he was clenching his jaw, that he was trying to keep his emotions in check.
"Anyway, I guess the good news is that she's pregnant again."
"She is?" I nodded my head with a small smile on my face when I saw the joy in his eyes, along side the obvious sadness at hearing about her miscarriage.
"I can't believe he didn't tell me. I don't feel like he should have, I understand it was between them but all this time Adrian just made out that his marriage problems with Jordan were because of him. He let everyone think it was him who was treating her wrong which is why she moved out, for two years he let me think that."
