~ Gabriella's POV ~

"You need to learn to relax Matteo." When I said this my boyfriend just rolled his eyes next to me and continued to type away on his laptop.

Excluding the day we arrived here, it was our third full day in Seychelles and so far he'd relaxed for a grand total of zero hours. Every chance he got he was back on his phone or his laptop to do his work, no matter how many times I tried to convince him to stop.

I told him this vacation was supposed to be used as time to get away from the mafia for a bit and to get over his time in prison but it seemed like he'd already forgotten about anything that happened before we left Italy. In fact the only thing he was still holding onto was his anger towards his family, particularly Adrian.

"I am relaxing, I'm on the beach with you, aren't I?" This time it was my turn to roll my eyes and I turned my head to look at him.

"Matteo I'm being serious. The only time when you're off that stupid thing is when we're eating, sleeping or when you're on your phone instead."

"You forgot when I'm also with you in the be-"

"Matteo!" I quickly cut him off as a deep pink blush spread across my cheeks and he let out a laugh. I hid my face in the beach towel that I was currently lying on, in order to try to tan my back and my legs while Matteo sat next to me doing his work.

"Five more minutes and then I'll stop. You'll have me for the rest of the trip, I promise."

It sounded perfect, didn't it? Unfortunately I knew it wasn't true.

"Don't make promises you can't keep Matteo." When I said this my words came out a little harsher than I expected and soon a tense atmosphere settled around us. I let out a sigh when Matteo turned his attention back to his laptop after he broke eye contact with me.

Neither of us said another word after that for then next twenty minutes until I finally had enough of just lying there next to him. I let out a frustrated sigh as I sat up, picking up my phone and my water bottle before I stood up, brushing the sand off my body.

"Where are you going?" Matteo looked up at me through the dark sunglasses he'd put on just as I started walking back across the sand to our villa.

"To take a shower and then order room service for dinner." He didn't reply as I went through the glass doors into the living room of our villa and then made my way into the bedroom.

Maybe I was overreacting a little to just walk away from him, but it was actually getting pretty hard to deal with his obsession with his work. I get that he'd been gone for ages and he had a lot to catch up on, but he was the one who decided to book our vacation so quickly. He could have waited a little while first if he was busy.

This was our last full day at this hotel and he spent most of it working. I didn't know where we were going after this but honestly, I wasn't sure if I even wanted to go anywhere with him after this.

"Gabby." Matteo watched as I stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped tightly around my body, water still dripping from my body after my shower. "Yes?"

He rose an eyebrow at my harsh tone before he cracked one his usual smiles.

A smile that always made me week at the knees.

Every. Single. Time.

"I'm sorry." I knew exactly what he was doing.

"So you think that you can just flash me that smile of yours and I'll just get over it?" When I said this his smile didn't even falter in the slightest, he actually looked even more amused.
