A/N:

So, I was debating with myself if I should or shouldn't make this story into two books because by the way the movie goes, it's not really about the two being in a relationship, and more with the things they're going through in life. But, obviously you guys probably want some fluffy (and maybe some smutty) moments so I wasn't sure if I should make like a prequel after this one. But, I've decided I'm not going to because I don't really have many ideas for a whole second book. So, we're just going to stick with one book but I'll make it a bit longer and go past what happens in the movie. Who knows maybe I'll just put two books into one. IDK, we'll see. I'll stop rambling now and let you guys read the next chapter of The Way He Looks! Enjoy!

The weekend came rolling around and Phil had to admit, he was rather nervous. It wasn’t like he’d never been to any parties before, he’d been to several, but there was just something different. It was probably being the new kid and going to a party where everyone already knows each other.

Phil quickly took a glance at himself in the mirror before rushing out of his room. He was meeting Dan to help him get ready. Now for Dan, this party was actually the first real party he was attending. From what Phil understood, Dan’s parents restricted him so much that the closest thing he had to a party was a small pool party with his friends from middle school.

Phil was actually surprised as to how little Dan had really lived. Dan was a teenager who should’ve been making memories with his friends but the most exciting thing he did was probably sneaking out of his house with Phil to watch the eclipse.

Phil couldn’t understand why the boy was still a virgin. He was especially shocked that Dan hadn’t even kissed someone yet. Dan was extremely attractive if Phil had to be honest, and his personality only made the whole package even better. It was weird how not one girl wanted to go after him. Phil didn’t know how he hadn’t pranced on the boy yet.

Phil quickly stopped himself before his thoughts lead to anything deeper. He couldn’t think of Dan in that way; he couldn’t think of Dan in any way besides a friend. And, just as he was snapping himself out of his thoughts, he found himself outside of Dan’s house.

He took in a deep breath before walking up the steps and knocking on the door. He waited for a few seconds before the door swung open. Phil was greeted with an older version of Dan’s eyes, chocolaty pools with wrinkles on the edges.

“Hi, um,” Phil stepped back a bit, “I’m Phil, nice to meet you.” Phil reached out his hand as the man let out a throaty laugh and reflected his actions. “Nice to meet you Phil,” the man smiled, “I’m Mark, Dan’s dad.” Phil nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. “Oh, uh, Dan’s up in his room,” he stepped aside, welcoming Phil inside, “I would show you some embarrassing photos of Dan but I don’t think he’d like that and I’m pretty sure he heard us talking.”

“Dad,” Dan sighed, coming down the stairs and guiding himself to the two of them. Phil’s smile quickly widened but he wiped the ginormous smile off his face before anyone could notice. “What are you two up to anyways,” Dan’s father squinted his eyes and Phil looked down at the floor.

“Oh, we’re just meeting up with PJ to have a guy’s night at his place,” Dan blurted out and Phil sighed. Dan hadn’t told his parents about the party, knowing that they’d immediately say no and wouldn’t let him out of the house that weekend. “Oh, alright,” his dad nodded before leaving the two of them.

“So, let’s get you ready?” Phil suggested and Dan nodded before heading up the stairs, Phil close behind. The two entered his room and Phil walked straight to Dan’s drawer. “Let’s see what you’re going to wear,” Phil hummed to himself and Dan giggled a bit. “You better not make me look like a fool,” Dan smiled and Phil let out a little chuckle, getting a punch in the arm from Dan.

“Oh, um,” Dan suddenly spoke up, “I actually have to shower so you do what you’re doing and I’ll be back in like ten minutes.” Phil let out a quite hum to let down know he could go and Dan rushed out the room. Phil continued digging through his drawer, putting together different outfits until he found one he knew would be great for Dan.

Like Dan said, he came walking back into the room ten minutes later. Phil took a final, pleased glance at the outfit before turning towards Dan. He was just about to say something before the words got knocked out of his mouth. Phil’s eyes wandered down from Dan’s face over his bare torso.

The only thing Dan had covering him was a towel that was loosely tied around his hips. Phil’s eyes roamed his body, taking in the sight of his pelvic bones slightly poking out above the rim of the towel, before focusing back on Dan’s face, the damp waves flowing over his forehead.

“Phil?” Dan’s voice suddenly snapped Phil out of his trance, causing him to jump back a bit. He felt the heat creep up his cheeks and he knew he was probably beat red by now. He turned around and picked up the outfit before flinging it on Dan’s shoulder.

“Wear this and all the girls will be swooning,” Phil laughed, his voice cracking a bit only making him redder. Dan laughed, shaking his head with a slight smile on his lips. Dan walked out of the room, leaving Phil sitting on the bed alone.

He sighed and threw his hands over his face. “What the hell is wrong with me?” he mumbled to himself. Only a day ago, Phil had no inappropriate thoughts about Dan whatsoever. But, now they were all over his head and he couldn’t do anything about them. What suddenly changed?

“So, what do you think?” Dan walked back into the room and Phil had to bite his tongue to restrain himself from gasping. “Oh, you’re definitely getting laid tonight,” Phil muttered, wanting the comment to sound funny but his tone overlapped the intended humor.

“Are you okay?” Dan asked and Phil shook his head, knowing Dan wouldn’t see him. “Yeah, I’m fine,” he stood up from the bed, “You ready to go?” Dan raised his eyebrows in confusion. “No, I still have to do my hair,” he said frantically and Phil hesitantly reached out a hand to nuzzle the soft waves on his head. “Don’t worry, you look perfect,” he muttered before heading out the room, “Now let’s go.”
