A/N:

Hello! I know, I promised to update every Saturday but I'm not positive that'll I'll always end up posting on Saturday's. I'll try my hardest to get it up on Saturday's but if it's not up on Saturday, it'll be up on Sunday. Sometimes unexpected things come up and I don’t have time to update so sorry! But, I went to a Bastille concert on Friday so I was just really tired on Saturday and couldn't be bothered to post. So, here I am, on Monday, with chapter four of The Way He Looks!

<><><><>

*One Week Later*

And, just like that, Phil started walking home with Dan and PJ every day. He’d actually gotten quite close with PJ. Though, he got much closer to Dan. It was like the three of them formed their own unstoppable trio. And, when Phil was with Dan and PJ, he did feel unstoppable.

Moving all the way from the other side of England scared Phil quite a lot. Socializing wasn’t his strongest suit so as expected; he didn’t have many friends in his old school. He only had one other friend, but they treated him like trash.

Phil was terrified on his first day at the new school. He entered about a week or so late so of course, everyone gave him strange looks as he walked down the halls. He felt so in the spotlight and that was the last thing he wanted.

He spent the entire day keeping quiet and trying to get as little attention as possible, which is probably the opposite of what he had to do if he wanted to make at least one friend. He cornered himself to the back of each classroom, dashing out each one as soon as the bell and rushing to the next. But, once he got to last period, he was called to the office.

He entered the room and was greeted with a receptionist who gave him a long introduction to the school and handed him about three papers to sign. After all of that was done, Phil checked the clock to see it was already halfway through the period. His heart sank before he quickly ran out of the room, mumbling a goodbye to the receptionist.

Phil ran through the halls, getting lost only once, before stopping outside the classroom door, taking a breath, and walking in as casually as possible. Though, with the silence of the room and the twenty-something eyes that shot up at him, he must’ve looked far from casual. He probably looked like some sort of lost puppy.

“Um, is this Mr. Leto’s class?” Phil looked around, his eyes stopping at one boy who had his stare positioned straight forward unlike the rest of the class, “Room 348?” He pulled his eyes away from the boy and turned towards the teacher, getting a nod from him. “Yes welcome. What’s your name?” Mr. Leto asked him before he quickly mumbled his name.

Mr. Leto began to search through his attendance paper and Phil’s eyes drifted towards the boy once again. This time the boy was looking at Phil and he quickly turned his gaze away, hoping he didn’t look weird trying to catch a peek.

Phil had to admit, the boy was attractive, with his straight chocolate like hair flowing across his face, and his slightly tanned skin. The boy was far better looking than himself, Phil thought. But, his looks weren’t the thing getting Phil’s attention. It was the way the boy held himself together.

Everyone had already drawn their eyes away from Phil and now only the boy was looking at him. Phil noticed that boy’s eyes looked a bit odd, they weren’t focused like everyone else’s; he almost looked cross-eyed. And the giant type writing sort of machine placed on his desk didn’t really deduct him as the average person.

“Oh yeah, here we are,” Mr. Leto’s voice interrupted Phil’s thoughts, “Go take a seat.” Phil scanned the room before finding the seat behind the boy empty. He pointed towards its direction, “Is that seat available?” Mr. Leto nodded before Phil wobbled over to desk and sat down.

“Good luck with Danny boy,” a kid from the back of the called out, causing a few others to giggle. Mr. Leto slammed his hand against his desk before sending the kid out of the room. “Alright class,” he spoke after the student exited the room, “Since all of that took about five minutes of the lesson we only have a few minutes before this class is over. So, I want to start you all off on a project that we’ll be doing for the rest of the semester.”

The class groaned before it erupted into chatter, people pointing at one another to pair up. “I wasn’t finished,” Mr. Leto called, “This is a project based on Greek gods and goddesses. You can only have a maximum of two and it has to be boys with boys and girls with girls, girls getting gods and boys getting goddesses.” The class groaned once again before the talking resumed.

Phil looked around the room, nobody paying him any mind. Who the hell was he going to pair up with? He knew absolutely nobody at this school and it didn’t seem as if anyone wanted to know him either. Phil faced the front of the room, sighing a bit, before his eyes caught the brunette boy. He wasn’t moving; he just stayed still, the same position as Phil.

Phil thought for a minute before shrugging and tapping the boy on his shoulder. The boy leaned back in his seat and Phil began to speak. “Hey, I don’t really have any friends around this place since I’m kind of new,” he mumbled, “So, maybe you’d want to pair up?” Phil waited for a reply and soon got a nod from boy.

“I’m Philip by the way,” Phil introduced himself, “But, I prefer to be called Phil.” The boy repositioned himself, a slight smile on his face. “I’m Daniel,” his soft voice replied, “But, I prefer to be called Dan.” Phil reached out his hand but when the boy didn’t respond he awkwardly took it back. “Oh, I’m sorry,” the boy muttered, “If you were holding out your hand. I’m blind so I can’t really see what’s going on, you know?”

“No biggy,” Phil smiled without a second thought to his response. He’d never met anyone blind before, but it wasn’t like Dan was any different than him, taking away the fact that he couldn’t see. Phil had no reason to judge Dan, he seemed like a nice guy, and him being blind didn’t take away from the fact that Phil wanted to be friends with him.

And, now here they were, a week later during the last few minutes of class. Dan and Phil spent the entire period talking about nonsense and not making any progress in their project. “We could just work on it after school,” Dan shrugged and Phil agreed.

Phil was surprised as to how well he got on with Dan. He didn’t really have much to relate to Dan about since he’d never really seen any of the movies he liked or watched any of the shows he enjoyed, but they did have a similar taste in music.

But, their similarity in interests didn’t really concern Phil because the two of them found so much other things to talk about. They talked about their dreams, their beliefs, their families, they got real personal, real fast. And, it didn’t bother Phil or Dan one bit. The two of them felt safe with each other and that was all that mattered.

Kind of a filler chapter so you could all know what’s going on with Phil. Again, sorry for not updating Saturday! Hope this chapter made up for the lateness! Make sure to leave your feedback and thanks for reading!

*So, since the thing with  Athena/Aphrodite happened in the last chapter (thanks for pointing it out btw), I’m just going to tell you all that if you happen to find any major mistakes that bother you, don’t hesitate to message me so I can correct it as soon as possible!*
