I'm going to try to get this story finished before the new year! I have break starting on Wednesday so I think I can get it done throughout the break. Anyways, just letting you guys know. Now onto chapter thirteen of The Way He Looks!

For almost half of the plain flight, Dan had to listen to Carrie babble on and on about nothing. Though, as much as she talked, Dan barely heard Phil talk. And when he did, only one or two words came out and then it was back to Carrie rambling. Eventually, Dan fell asleep to the continuous blabber coming from Carrie.
When they arrived, the bump of the plane landing awakened Dan. He leaned his head back against his seat and groaned, stretching his body. Being tall really had its disadvantages, he thought to himself, trying to stretch his legs but failing.
A teacher soon came up and offered to help Dan out of the plane. He guided him to the baggage claim and got his bags for him and soon enough, Dan was put into a car that took him to the hotel all the students were staying in.
When Dan arrived at the hotel, the driver offered to help but Dan shook his head and got out of the car. Once he got his bags, a man came up and helped him take his bags to his room, handing him the keys. Dan thanked him and was left alone, standing outside his room, hoping he didn’t get a bad roommate. But with the way things were going for Dan, he knew the opposite would happen.
Dan took a deep breath before unlocking the door and stepping inside, dragging his bags along with him. He shut the door behind him and stood there awkwardly, waiting for some sort of greeting. Had his roommate not arrived yet? He was the last one out of the airport, how could he have been first to his room?
“Um, do you want help with your things?” the all too familiar voice broke the silence, causing Dan’s heart to fall into the pit of his stomach. Out of all people, why did it have to be Phil? He was the last person Dan wanted to be roomed with. He could’ve settled with PJ, his luck had to be at rock bottom.
“Oh, uh no I got it,” Dan shook himself out of his trance and began to drag his things across the room, using his foot to feel what’s in front of him. He could feel Phil’s eyes stuck on him as he shifted across the room and placed his bags onto his bed.
“I’m going to crash and probably unpack tomorrow,” Dan muttered bitterly, “You can go run off to Carrie’s room.” He immediately regretted saying what he said as he didn’t hear a reply from Phil. And soon enough, he heard the door slam and he sighed heavily.
“Way to fucking go, Dan,” he whispered to himself as he moved his bags to the floor. He pulled the sheets on his bed back and sat down. He stripped his clothing, only remaining in his boxers and climbed under the sheets, turning to his side and shutting his eyes, eventually dosing off into a deep sleep.

“It’s been so complicated,” Phil’s voice rang in the distance, “I just don’t know what to feel.” Dan listened steadily as he walked towards the voice, seeing black and white flashes of his surroundings every second or so. “I don’t know why I did it,” his voice grew louder as Dan walked closer, “I was just feeling all these emotions and it just happened and now I don’t know what to do.”
“It’s okay,” Dan stopped as he heard a female’s voice, “It was just the heat of the moment; an accident.” Carrie. Dan continued to walk closer before the two of them flashed in front of him. He stopped and stood still, listening as snippets of them sitting extremely close to one another came into his sight.
“But, now he’s not talking to me, and I don’t know if I should just talk to him first,” Phil muttered, “It’s all so frustrating. I don’t know why I ran away after I did it.” And soon enough, Carrie was on top of Phil and Dan was running towards them.
“Does this make you happy that you ran away?” she whispered flirtatiously. Phil nodded quickly before she leaned in and crashed their lips against one another. Dan jumped towards and tried to pull them apart but his hands slipped right through them.
“Phil!” he shouted as he tried again and again to separate the two, “What were you just talking about?” The two of them continued to make out feverishly and Dan fell back. “I’m really drunk,” Phil laughed. “It’s fine,” Carrie giggled, “We both are.”

Dan pushed himself up, breathing heavily as he felt around. He felt his hands grasp his sheets and sighed in relief before falling back onto his pillow. He shut his eyes and shook his head, his hands covering his face.
How could he let this one person make him go through all of this? It was like Phil was all he was thinking about and it was really getting to him. He was having nightmares about him hooking up with someone, when they weren’t even together. How was he going to deal with being the boy’s roommate for a whole week?
“Dan?” the last voice he wanted to hear at the moment rung throughout the room. “Sorry,” Dan mumbled, “Just had a bad dream.” He stayed silent as he heard the shuffling of sheets, assuming Phil went back to sleep. He turned to his side and shut his eyes.
But, just as Dan thought that was the last confrontation he’d have with Phil for the next few days, he felt someone lift his sheets. He shivered as cold air hit his bare skin and moved more to the side of the bed. And within seconds, the feeling of someone else’s skin was on his.
Dan tensed up as he waited for something to happen. What the hell was Phil doing? They were barely talking, what was he doing crawling into Dan’s bed? Dan shifted even more to the side before Phil’s arm wrapped around him, pulling him closer.
“I’m really drunk,” Phil slurred before snorting, “Your skin is soft.” Dan sighed before lifting Phil’s arm off of him and getting up. He moved to the other side of the room, getting into Phil’s bed and turning the other way. He knew how he got drunk.
Carrie had probably gotten some alcohol from some other students and got drunk with Phil. They probably then proceeded to hook up, all thoughts of Dan slipping from Phil’s mind. And, now that Phil was back in the room, as drunk as he was, he probably thought Dan was Carrie. And, as all those thoughts ran through Dan’s head, he wished he was as drunk as Phil as well.
