Reader POV
"Care to join me for a cup of tea?" Julius asked you. Right now you were in his office with Marx.
You silently sipped your tea and dunked a sugar cookie into the tea (don't judge lmao). "Master Julius, I would like to make an Elite Squad that will face him off in a final battle," you started.
"Oh?"
"I would have only level zero and above stages in this Elite Squad," you said.
"How do you propose that you put every candidate on trial?" Marx asked. "I could-"
"I already know who they are," you said.
"Pardon me?" Marx looked surprised.
You smiled. "When I was in the arena, I could sense each person's ki and pinpoint who were elves due to the vast amounts of mana and who wasn't an elf but still had powerful magic. I could also tell which had little to no magic at all."
"Incredible!" Julius shouted. "You know, your magic has always fascinated me,"
You laughed. "Sure, sure." Then you grew serious. "I need your permission to start my own squad."
"Why not just take over Mereleona's squad?" Julius suggested. "I'm sure she'd rather worry about her own things-"
"I'm sorry, but in the squad I am making, or will make, it can only have the most powerful mages in this kingdom. However, if this mage is already the leader of another squad, they can choose either to join my squad or stay in their own."
"I see your point," Julius sighed. "Very well. Choose your members and remember-" he placed a hand on your shoulder. "This isn't just your battle. You are far too young to be the cause of a battle."
"But-"
"Listen to me," Julius insisted. "You are going against your homeland for your new home. There are things that will change your destiny there. You must stay strong."
You laughed. "Julius, I'm not as young as you think I am. I'm 27, damn it!"
"You grew up too fast," He grumbled. "No matter. I give you permission to start your squad."

"THESE ROBES ARE SO COOL!" Asta cheered as you called everyone you invited to join your squad.

"I still can't believe you are now a captain," Noelle sighed. "It seems like yesterday you were our age."
"For me, it feels like I just was," you laughed. "Anyway. Everyone, welcome to the Avalon Knights."
Vanessa placed her bottle of beer down. "I am still shocked I'm an Arcane Stage mage,"
"I'm shocked I'm close to level zero," Noelle and some others said.
You nodded. "I can tell just by your ki. And I've watched you practice."
Grey was nervously smiling. "I love the colors,"
"Thank you," Rill took a bow. "I helped (y/n) design it. Though I went off on my own for some parts-"
You ignored him. "Do you see that blue button at the top of your robe? Well, if you need to, a dark wish will be granted. It can save anyone from death- or yourself."
"COOL!!!"
"How does it work?" Yuno asked.
You waited for everyone to quiet down. "How it works is simple. You touch that button and call out the person you wish to save. If it is yourself, say 'Save Me' and it will. However, you can only use it once. So I strongly advise you to use it wisely."
"How did you do that though?"
Secre Swallowtail stood up. "I used my entrapment magic to keep it in there."
"But how can it still work with my anti-magic?" Asta piped up.
You grinned at him. "Us devils know what to do for each other. Don't worry, it will still work with your anti-magic."
"Good!"
You then dismissed everyone. "We have four more months to go before we meet up with everyone! Train your hardest but don't forget to take breaks!"
Everyone in the Avalon Knights cheered and clapped.
"That was very inspirational," Nozel clapped as you walked to him. He wasn't in the Avalon Knights after politely declining. He said he had to take care of the Silver Eagles. "You know, it's funny."
"What?"
He smirked. "I've only once seen you wearing a Silver Eagle's robe. After all, you did join my squad before you took one long-ass nap."
You blushed. "Maybe I'll only wear that,"
Nozel's face flushed. "W-What? Are you suggesting-"
You placed a finger to his lips and he shut his mouth so you could speak. "Maybe...maybe not. Find out tonight~"
"Oh, no you don't!" He grabbed you before you could walk off. "If I'm getting my robe...messy, then you'd better clean it all up."
You rolled your eyes. "Sure, sure. Besides," you moved your finger and booped his nose. "You know you love me."
"Cheeky bastard," he grumbled. "Just so you know, you aren't getting away from me tonight."
"Way to get it with Nozel," Noelle, Mimosa, and Kirsch grinned.
You ignored them. "You three should be preparing for training tomorrow morning. Bright and early."
"With you?"
"Hell no," you said. "Asta and I need to spar. I need to test his anti-magic once more."
Mimosa and Noelle's eyebrows raised. "Oh yeah. You both use devil's magic."
Asta jumped up and down. "Heck yeah, Miss Sukehiro!"
