Reader POV

"What do you mean Nozel let your family die?"

Leonardo looked down at the floor. "During the battle of the elves, he had the option to either save some old noble who was money laundering or my family. Which we are commoners, by the way."

"There's no mistaking it," Leonardo hissed. "I watched them die right before my eyes. That Nozel of yours. He did nothing. He didn't even go attack the elf. He just walked away."

You sighed. "Are you sure Nozel would do that? Surely there-"

"He did!" Leonardo spat. "It's because of him that my pregnant sister and my parents along with all five of my other siblings are dead."

"That's not true," Nozel walked up to the two of you, sensing your distress. "Your family could've ran since I moved the building that was blocking the way out,"

"Tch. Say what you believe. I know what I saw, noble." Leonardo gave you a wave. "See you tomorrow morning, Lady (y/n) Sukehiro Silva."

You watched him go. "Is it true? Did you really move a building so they could get out?"

Nozel nodded. "The only reason why I didn't personally escort them out was that one of them had magic. That's Leonardo. I was certain he would be able to save them. I saved that noble because he couldn't move. He ended up dying in the end,"

You frowned. "Do you want me to go talk to Leonardo?"

"I don't want you near him," Nozel said. "What he talked about happened almost eighteen years ago. Seems he still holds a grudge."

Then he paused. "Except I saw his grimoire back then. It was red and had golden edges, but it didn't have a three-leaf clover, it had some weird insignia."

"Are you saying that this Leonardo isn't the same?"

"I'm not sure," Nozel said. "Please be careful, (y/n)."

...

The party ended a while later and everyone went back to their respective homes.

"You two be good for Daddy, alright?" You kissed Noah and Ace goodbye.

They both nodded. "Yes, Mommy."

"Take care of yourself," Nozel kissed you deeply. "You know what I'm going to do when you get back home, right? I'm going to slam you on our bed and-"

"Nozel," you warned. "Children."

He sweatdropped. "Right. Goodbye, (y/n)."

They were the last to leave.

Leopold and some of the males opted to share one big room as the females shared a room.

You insisted on sleeping with the female group since it would be less space taken up in Yuno's castle.

Yuno insisted on bringing you somewhere. "It's a surprise," he said.

He leads you down the halls and opened a double door. "This was your mother's room, my aunt's. Apparently it wasn't harmed or touched for decades, aside from cleaning and maintenance."

"Yuno, I..." you were honestly touched. "You jerk, come here." You hugged the hell out of your younger cousin.

"You know, I remember seeing through Dorthy's projection your magic knight's entrance exam," you smirked. "You were a powerful jerk back then. Hell, you still are,"

Yuno laughed slightly. "Yeah...I remember seeing everyone's face when they saw I kicked ass,"

"Tell me, why didn't you stay in the Clover Kingdom to become the Wizard King?" You asked as you sat down on your mother's large bed.

Yuno sighed. "Well, I had a calling here. I knew that you technically were first in line since your mother was, but I knew you loved the Clover Kingdom and Nozel."

You patted the space on the bed next to you. "I wonder what life would've been like if we had grown up here. I wonder if you and I would've still close,"

The dark-haired king shrugged. "Lots of shit could've happened. But I'm glad that you and I are where we are today. I wouldn't change a thing."

"Neither would I."

Yuno stood up. "Now, sleep you damn idiot. I won't have my older cousin and ex-captain falling asleep on the job."

You laughed. "Alright, get out of here, you jerk! And close the door behind you!"

Yuno laughed also and did as you said. "Goodnight, (y/n)."

"Goodnight, Yuno."

The door shut behind him.

You carefully got up and touched everything in the room.

"Mom really grew up here..." you took out your grimoire. "Dark Magic: Wandering Souls."

A projection of your mother came to life. She was sitting at the vanity, combing her silky (h/c) hair.

She indeed looked just like you.

She couldn't hear you and you couldn't touch her.

"Annie, what are you doing?" Another projection walked up to your mother. It was Yuno's parents.

"Hello, Loyce, Ciel," You saw that Yuno looked just like the perfect mix of his parents.

All three of them were in their youth.

You could also tell that your mother was the host of Megicula at this time, though the two didn't know.

You watched them interact before turning off the spell.

The room became empty once more as you settled down in the covers.

It had a nice lavender smell to it.

Nozel POV

I walked from my office where the portal lead to.

I had just tucked Ace and Noah into bed. They were sleeping soundly now.

It felt weird to sleep in the shared bed without (y/n)'s warmth.

Yes, I probably could've just sent her back in the morning with a spacial mages' magic, but we both knew that if I did that, neither of us would get sleep.

I clutched the first gift (y/n) had ever given me when we were kids.

It was a sort of teddy bear whenever I got nervous or scared at night in my big, shadowy room.

I never told her this, but I used it often to think of her. The teddy bear was kept in my side of our shared closet, locked in a box that I carried the key to everywhere. I unlocked it and saw more things in this special box.

There were love letters when (y/n) and I were separated during battles, pictures of my family, a faded piece of my mother's Silver Eagles robe, and many other things. T

I took out the teddy bear and set it on the nightstand.

As foolish as it seemed, it really did calm me down.

(y/n), I swear to gods. You'd better come back to me alive and well.
