Reader POV

Nozel tried all day to talk to me.

I ignored him.

During breakfast, instead of sitting at the right of the table closest to him, I chose a seat to the left and three seats away from Nozel.

The children seemed to notice the tension but continued to go about their daily life.

Noah ended up going back to the Silver Eagles early, deciding that he'd rather be exhausted from work instead of seeing us argue.

I was still very mad since it was my right as Megicula's daughter to see the memories that he left for me to find with my magic.

Who is Nozel to say that I wasn't allowed to?

I was seething in anger as I cut up some veggies. The maids knew when to leave me alone when my demeanor screamed murder.

Cooking was a way that I relieved stress or anger.

"Careful, you'll hurt yourself."

I looked up to see Nozel frowning.

"What are you doing in the kitchens? Don't you have work to do?"

He shook his head. "After last night's fight, I got it all done so I could spend the day with you."

"I don't want to talk to you."

"Fine, but I'm still going to be here."

I frowned but said nothing.

"Are you making soup?" He asked. He saw the ingredients cut up. "Oh. A sort of butternut squash soup?"

I said nothing and poured some onions to cook into the pan.

Nozel already knew my routine in the kitchen. He got to work on the squash itself, cutting it into pieces and poured his cut up things into the pot which I mashed up.

"Here, add a pinch of salt," he suggested. He held out the container.

You took it and took out a pinch of salt.

"Add it to the soup, it will taste better," he said.

I frowned and instead of sprinkling the pinch in, I poured the entire container of salt into the soup, therefore making it unedible.

Before he had come in, you had made another thing of soup to serve and put it away in the fridge, so this batch was out of spite.

"Are you fucking serious?" Nozel looked pissed. "That was rare salt from the Spade Kingdom!"

I glared and said nothing, continuing to stir and mash as if nothing happened.

Nozel grabbed the stirring utensil and made me look at him. "(y/n), what the hell was that?"

I just stared at him with a bored expression.

"What's wrong with you?"

"So there's something wrong with me now?" I snarled.

Nozel looked devasted. "No-"

"Do us a favor and leave me alone, Nozel. I'm not in the mood to talk to you."

"You're being unreasonable," Noze said calmly.

i just walked passed him, heading upstairs. He followed me.

"Can't we just talk?"

I started to close the door but he stopped me with his foot. The door slammed behind him.
