39: The Origin Story pt.3

Anne POV

"What do you mean I'm getting married??" I stared at parents in horror.

"It means just so," Father said.

I couldn't hold it in anymore. "But Father, I love someone else!"

He sighed. "What is his status? I know you've been sneaking around the village."

I shook my head. "Father, I'm the mate of a devil."

Loyce looked at me in horror. "You're now mates??"

My parents eyes got wide. "Loyce? How long have you known?"

"I only knew that they were friends."

Father took a deep breath. "Anne, you will end this relationship with this demon and you will settle down with someone equal to your staris. King Augustus Kira Clover XIII has offered his hand-"

"NO!" I shouted. "I love him! Augustus is some creep!"

"Anne (y/n) Spade! You will do as I say!" Father shouted. "My word is the law! I know my place in this world. It is high time that you learned yours."

That night, I contacted I friend Yami Sukehiro from the Clover Kingdom.

He indeed knew about my relationship with Megicula but didn't approve of it. After all, he was my ex.

"You are coming tonight??" He said.

I nodded through the intercom. "I...I'm pregnant with his child."

Megiucla who already knew was leaning against the wall.

"I can't," Yami said. "You told me long ago that you would marry me,"

I shook my head. "I was a foolish young teenager, Yami. I am asking as a friend and best friend that you help me."

"I'm sorry but I just can't. I want to help, I really do, but what will everyone say when they find you? Carrying the daughter of a devil. A ruined royal."

"Yami?"

He closed his eyes. "Goodbye, Anne. I really loved you, you know. But I cannot help you right now. You said you would come to me."

"Yami, what are you saying?"

The connection was cut off.

I sat on my bed with tears coming out of my eyea.

"Annie, don't cry," Megicula said to me gently. "Crying doesn't suit someone as amazing as you."

"What can I do now?" I wailed. "I can't go anywhere-"

"The Avalon Forest," Megicula said. "I can use my magic to make everyone avoid the cave."

"Really?"

He picked me up gently. "Of course. It's time to go now." Into the darkness he fled, with me in his arms. We landed in the cave and Megicula released his magic into the air.

"Now we'll be safe forever," he said in my ear.

Months passed. The cave had started to feel like home once Megicula used dark transformation magic to look like a human and going to buy home products.

It was the final month of my pregnancy with (y/n) that Megicula finally realized something.

"Annie, your blood. Our child has my demonic blood, I can tell."

"What's wrong?"

He looked down. "I've been so foolish. Annie, when you give birth to our child, you...you won't be around,"

"What do you mean?" I asked worriedly. "Megicula...am I dying?"

He couldn't look at me with his beautiful red/blue eyes. "I should have never mates with you. Then you wouldn't be dying-"

I shut him up with a kiss. "I love you, Megicula. I don't regret anything we did."

"But-"

I gave my belly a pat. "Our daughter will be the bridge between the two species. A union between devils and humans."

Tears welled in his eyes.

"A world just like we wanted for (y/n)," I kissed his hand.

"A world like we dreamed," he finished softly. "But Annie...you won't be there to raise her,"

Megicula POV (timeskip)
It was exactly one year after Anne had died.

Yami Sukehiro ended up showing up right before she died.

I warned him to never come back and to leave my daughter and I alone.

Yami however took two of her necklaces before I could stop him.

I knew he regretted not helping Anne while he had the chance, but I still didn't forgive him.

In the years that followed, I had begun to grow cruel and distant.

When (y/n) saw me kill those hunters in cold blood, she didn't understand that they were actually there to kill her.

I had encountered many mages, all who I cursed since they had no information on my daughter.

"I will never tell you where (y/n) is!" A steel
mage named Acier Silva spat. "She is in less danger with us than with you, devil!"

Overcome with hatred, I placed a curse on her that would kill her soon after she gave birth to her child.

The last time I saw (y/n), she looked exactly like Anne.

She ended my life of despair and suffering.

"Anne..." I left my physical body and drifted to the Judgement Hall of the Dead.

"Megicula." Her beautiful golden wings were sagging in sadness. "You will forever walk the world of Hell due to your sins in this life."

I sighed, knowing that we wouldn't be together in the afterlife.

"I'm sorry," I said.

She smiled sadly. "I love you too. Our dream for (y/n) came true in the end."

I reached out to her but she disappeared. The setting was now Hell. A world plunged with endless screams and torture.

I looked up at the sky to see the angels flying ahead.

"I will be watching forever," I sighed.

I turned around and begun my walk into the deep rings of Hell.

Once more, I was alone.

Megicula really did love Anne and was angered by her death and how he had seemed to have lost everything.

Now in the next chapter, we will go to the present where Nozel and (y/n) are living with their family and friends in happiness.
