Reader POV

I lead the Avalon Knights to the outskirts of the Spade Kingdom.

"So, you sent a group ahead of everyone else?" You had asked Rill.

He nodded. "I sent Asta ahead with the others just in case."

"That makes sense," you said. "That way, they can warn us of something is wrong,"

You then heard something crack, which made you tense. "Who goes there?"

"Sorry, that was me," Leonardo apologized. "I stepped on a branch."

You glared at the male. Ever since he had talked to Nozel, he had gotten more and more aggravating.

A couple of times you had to remind him you were a married woman.

Rill sighed in frustration as well.

The group continued onward.

"(y/n), tell me about your family," Mimosa asked kindly.

You laughed slightly. Fed up with Leonardo's shit, you transformed everyone by using Tempest Shadow. Thank goodness the woods you were all currently in had shadows everywhere.

"Well, you've been to the castle a lot," you said. "There's not much to miss,"

"But behind closed doors, what are you and Nozel getting up to?~" She smirked. "You and I both know babies are made one way or another,"

You glared at the female. "Mimosa Vermillion!"

She laughed but then stopped.

You gave your group the signal to stop. Of course, Finral had to stop Leonardo since he didn't understand the signals.

You gave another signal for Jack and Storm to go ahead. They were able to move very quickly through the shadows and had the most experience since you had known them the longest.

They came back a bit later. "There is a group of bounty hunters," Jack explained.

"They had tied up a kid. That kid was giving off demonic magic," Storm added.

"That must be the person causing demonic scout's trackers to go mad," you said.

Your communication device buzzed and you answered. "Asta. Where is your group?"

"We are approaching the west side of that campsite. Shall we meet you there and you guys take the east?"

"Sounds like a plan," you said. "See you then."

"Are we going to do a classic?" Leopold grinned and summoned his fire.

You nodded. "I want this group to split up. Asta, do you hear me? Split your group into two. From what Storm and Jack tell me, they aren't to be messed with. All four groups will surround their campsite."

"Copy that." Asta said and hung up.

You instructed Rill to take three.

There would be four groups of three so that way you could surround the bounty hunters.

You quietly sped through the shadows and saw the campsite.

There was a boy with black hair and piercing blue eyes. He looked frightened as he was tied up.

"Boss wants you alive for some dumbass reason," one of the hunters growled. "Said something about you having some kind of demonic magic or something,"

"It's not just demonic magic!" The boy hissed. "It's demonic hellfire magic."

Why I am I getting Rin Okumura vibes? You thought to yourself. You sent up a flare, giving everyone else the signal to attack.

Out of the bushes they jumped and leaped into spar mode.

"Filthy creatures," Leonardo simply tapped all of them and threw them to the side.

"Ha, there's even more of these fucking devils!" A man with an eyepatch shouted as he picked up his sword.

"Stop..." the boy was taking deep breaths.

"Oh shit...he's about to blow again,"

You quickly trapped the boy in Endless Void so the impact of his energy exploding wouldn't hurt anyone.

"He's contained!" You shouted to everyone.

It wasn't that long before everyone was tied up.

You glared at the supposed leader. "What the fuck is wrong with you? That kid-"

"That kid burned down an entire fucking village!" The hunter spat. "His fucking flames burned everyone and everything!"

You sighed. "Asta, watch them. I'm going to have a little talk with the boy, alright?"

Asta nodded and you went into Endless Void.

The boy was still tied up. You slowly walked over, seeing his frightened eyes.

"I'm not going to hurt you," you said gently.

He tensed as you came closer.

"I'm just going to untie you, is that alright?"

Slowly, he nodded. When he was free, he activated his demonic magic. Blue flames surrounded the area but you put them out quickly.

"How did you-?"

You smiled. "The name's (y/n) Sukehiro Silva of the Clover and Spade Kingdom. Who are you?"

"You didn't answer my question. How did you put out the fire? Why didn't you catch on fire like everyone else?"

You grinned. "I'm just like you. I've got demonic magic, however what makes me different is that I am a devil. My father was a devil."

"Then...you're just like me," he agreed.

"If you say so. Which one of your parents was a devil?"

"My father," he said. "If you're here to kill me, then just do it!"

You gave him a confused look. "Child, how old are you? Also, what is your name?"

"I'm six years old and I don't have a name," he said. "My father just called me Brat and my mother died."

Your heart lurched. "I'm sorry. Listen, is it true what they are saying? Did you burn down a whole village?"

The boy looked ashamed. "Yes. It was the night my father killed my mother. I...the impact of me screaming unleashed a huge blue fireball and the next thing I knew, my father's body was nothing but ashes and his heart slashed. The village was in cinders and people were surrounding me with pitchforks,"

You saw him shivering. "Can you tell me who they were?"

"The hunters who you guys were fighting," he said. "I ran and ran, but they caught up to me. They were dragging me to the outskirts to kill me since King Yuno issued a proclamation that all devils are protected unless they are threatening. The villagers didn't want a trial so they opted to kill me outside the boundary."

"I'm so sorry," you said softly. "My group and I will do whatever it takes to make sure you are safe."

"Why?" He said with depressed eyes. "I'm just a danger."

You rolled your eyes and got into your full demon form. "I'm also a danger, but I can control myself. I only use my demonic magic to protect those I love. Just like you."
