*****"So, that's why he protected you from Andrew?" Genesis asked, as they both walked home from the club, two days after speaking to Paul, and listening to his revelation on his past.
Dominique nodded, "Yes."
"Oh," Genesis sighed, "I assumed it was something else."
Dominique laughed, knowing fully well what Genesis and the others had thought of Paul's action, but she was so glad that they were all wrong.
"I guess not all men are after wooing a lady." She said.
Genesis rolled her eyes, "Fine. Paul's a real gentleman, and his reason was quite valid, and believable."
As Genesis talked, Dominique recalled how he had confided in her, and told her everything, and she imagined how bitter he must have been after his sister's death. Yet, she could not be more proud of how brave he was today, and so, she respected and looked to him as her role model. Well, not in bashing people up, but in learning how to make the most of the situation and in turning the past to a standardized weapon to protect the future in the present times.
Genesis cleared her voice so loudly and successfully got Dominique back from her thoughts.
She looked at Dominique, and crossed her hands in front of her chest, "You know Dominique, I wonder how you survive with all those thoughts."
Dominique laughed. "Well, I can't survive without them."
Gen huffed, "Alright. I was asking if you knew of the upcoming party in the hostel."
Dominique stopped walking, as her nose wrinkled up at this new information she had no idea about, "A party at the hostel?"
Gen also stopped walking a few meters from her, and walked back to her, "Yes, didn't Ana mention it to you?" She asked, and Dominique nodded. She slapped her forehead and frowned, "That girl never remembers anything I tell her," She said, "Anyway, there's going to be a party in the Lost Angels Fort."
"Why is there going to be a party? What the hell is LAF celebrating?" Dominique asked.
"Well, LAF is officially ten years old, and the party is held to celebrate its anniversary." Gen said, and Dominique nodded.
"Ok," She said, and was about asking more details about the party, when Gen's eyes popped open and she cut in.
"Wait," Gen exclaimed, "That day also happens to be the birthday of Amelia's dead daughter. The party is practically to celebrate Amelia Adams' daughter's birthday."
Dominique recalled hearing the name Amelia Adams, and she scratched the back of her head as she tried to recall who told her, and then it all came back to her. Anastasia had mentioned it the day they met guards at the entrance of the hostel; the day of her exam.
"Oh, right. Amelia Adams," Dominique said, "but, I wasn't aware she has a daughter."
Genesis shook her head, "She had a daughter," She corrected Dominique, "Amelia's daughter died when she was only a few months old, but Amelia still celebrates her birthday with the belief that her daughter is not dead, but only missing."
Dominique sighed. "That's so bad. It must have been hard for her to bear her child's death, and that's why she chose to believe that the said child is still alive."
"Maybe," Genesis shrugged, "but I believe that Amelia's not lying, and her daughter is still alive."
"Why do you say so?" Dom asked.
