Honeymaren's POV
I open my eyes and find myself looking into a pair of ocean eyes staring back at me. "Hi." She says. "Hi." We continue looking at each other in comfortable silence before I break it. "How long have you been up?" I ask her and she hums. "I'd say about an hour."
"Really?" I ask. Why didn't she wake me?
"No. About 10 minutes." She says giggling at my reaction. "You're mean," I say and snuggle into her neck. "Honey?"
"Yeah?"
"You know I love you and I will never leave you, right?" She asks and I stay silent for a minute. "I know that you love your sister and Arendelle. I'm afraid that you'll leave." I admit and she's quiet. "But if your happy, I'm happy," I say and she smiles. "Honey I might miss Arendelle and Anna but I feel at peace in the forest and I know where I belong. I belong here with the Northuldra, with you." She says stroking my cheek. I smile at her and slowly get up. "Come on, let's have an adventure." I declare and she giggles. "Okay but I think we should get breakfast first." She says and before I can respond my stomach grumbles loudly. I feel my face go red as she giggles at my bodily noises. Suddenly she stops and shivers. "What's wrong?" I ask and she gives me a small frown. "I don't know, the spirits feel restless." She says and scrunches her nose. "Do you want to talk about it?" I offer and she shakes her head. "Not really." She says and I nod, stretching my hand out. "Malady," I say and she takes my hand. "Why thank you, kind sir." She says with a horrible accent that makes me laugh. She pouts before getting a too innocent smile on her face. "Ahh." I squeal once I feel something cold and wet drop onto my head. I gasp and look at her in fake shock. "I think you've got a little something there Honey." She says smirking and flicks some of the snow off my head. I pout before smiling deviously and shaking my head, getting the snow everywhere. She lets out a fake dramatic gasp and grabs me by the collar of my shirt. She stares me in the eyes before leaning down and pressing a gentle kiss on my lips. "What was that for?" I ask after she pulls away and she gives me a look. "Not that I'm complaining," I say defensively and she smiles. "I don't really know, but it felt right." She says and I see her cheeks turn slightly red. "Aww your so cute." I coo while stroking her cheek. "Shut up." She mumbles turning even redder and I laugh. "Come in Snowflake let's go eat," I say and take her hand pulling her out of the tent. Wow, the suns bright today. I turn a little and see Yelana approaching us with a stern look on her face. "Ah, just the people I was looking for, Honeymaren you need to do your chores and Elsa I would like to speak to you," Yelana says and I pout. She gives me a look and I sigh before giving a Elsa a quick kiss in the cheek and running off towards Ryder. "Ready for our chores? Grandmother chose some interesting ones today." Ryder says and I nod my head. "Okay but first let's eat, I'm starving." He says grinning and I follow him to the kitchen.Elsa's POV
"Is something wrong?" I ask automatically assuming the worst and Yelana looks a bit conflicted. "Well yes and no." She says and I look at her confused. "It's okay Yelana, tell me what's troubling you?" I say reassuringly. "Well, Elsa I have an off feeling. The spirits seem restless and I was wondering if you could check up in them." She says and I nod. "Of course it's basically my job," I say and she smiles softly. "Thank you. Now go have breakfast child I don't want you to starve." She says shooing me away. I walked over to the kitchen and get a piece of bread with jam, along with a small wooden cup of milk. I walk out of the tent and walk out towards the beach. I sit down on the warm white sand and sigh. The ocean looks beautiful. I should probably talk to Gale. I let out a call and feel a small breeze blow through my hair. "Hey, Gale," I say and the wind spirit tickles my nose as if you say hello. "How are you feeling?" I ask and he makes a noise that seems dark. "What's the matter?" I ask and I hear some ferocious wind noise and feel his usually light and joyful aura become one of anger and frustration. Suddenly I hear a little noise come from beside me. "Hello." I greet the little fire spirit who licks his eye in response. Suddenly he lights up and stares at me as if he was screaming with his eyes. "Ummm is Nokk around?" I ask and look around. Gale makes some noise and Nokk appears, whining. "Well now all we're missing is the Earth Giants," I say sarcastically and Nokk huffs. "Okay is there a problem in Arendelle?" I ask and the fire spirit dims his fire. "Umm the Northuldra?" The spirit again lights up brightly. "Umm everyone looks fine to me," I say and the Nokk whines. "Okay okay I'll go to Ahtohallan and see if I can get any answers," I say and Nokk snorts, satisfied with my answer, as well as the fire spirit who licks his eyeball and puts his flames out. "Well then I should get going," I say and quickly eat my food before approaching Nokk. I watch as his body frosts over with ice and I pull myself onto him. "Okay, buddy lets go," I say and he jerks forward quickly towards Ahtohallan. Whoa, this must be really important.
I swing a leg over Nokk and hop off. "Thank you," I say and place my hand on his head, which he nuzzles into me. "Alright I'll see you later Nokk," I say in which he whines in response. I walk into Ahtohallan and admire the beauty of the glacier. I walk into the room full of memories and see me and Anna ice skating. Then I see Honeymaren and I looking at each other while we train. "Hello," I say out loud to the sacred place. I get the call in response. "Is there something wrong?" I ask out loud to which I look up and see that it's showing me a memory. It's me saying I trust you to Honeymaren. "Okay?" I say and it shows another memory, it's Anna saying don't shut me out. "Umm do I need to trust someone?" I ask and I hear Ahtohallan's call in response. "Okay, I'll try," I say and walk through the memories of ice. There's Anna and me as children. I see Anna hiding behind a pile of snow while I look for her. I turn and see my mother and father in a hugging while watching us play. I should probably start heading back. I walk back through the halls and towards the icy shore where Nokk is waiting for me. "Okay, buddy lets go," I say and we head back to the forest.
I hop off of Nokk and thank him before walking towards the river where the earth giants are sitting. "Hello!" I greet them loudly since they're so tall. They wave at me and splash around. They seem fine to me. I walk over to the field and see Ryder trying to wrangle some reindeer that seem to be out of control. 'Need some help!?" I call out to him. "Yes please!" He says and looks at me gratefully. I feel the power flowing through my veins as I use ice to block the reindeer then push them into a fence. "Oh my goodness thank you. Some kids scared them while they were trying to feed and started to go crazy." He says while running over to me. "No problem Ryder, I'm gonna go find your sister I'll see you later," I say and he nods. "I think I saw her with Sara at the lake." He says and cringes at Sara's name. "Okay thanks," I say and wave bye to him. He waves back and continues to calm the reindeer. I walk towards the lake and once I get to the treeline I see something that shatters my heart. I feel it all hit at once the pain, the anger, and the betrayal. No no no this can't be happening she said she loved me. Well, she lied. I need to get out of here. I sprint towards the camp and dash into my tent. I grab my bag and write a quick letter through my tears.
Dear Yelana,
I'm sorry for the sudden disappearance but I simply cannot stay here for the time being. I need some time, I hope you understand. Please take care of the forest.
Love, Elsa"Gale!" I call out and the wind spirit immediately rushes in. "Take this Yelana, I'll be back soon. But please take care of the forest." I say to the spirit who makes wind noises in response and takes the letter without hesitation. I rush out of my tent and run towards the shore. "Nokk!!" The water spirit quickly appears and takes a look one look at my broken appearance before pushing himself into my chest in a comforting way. "It hurts," I whisper and he whines. "Come on Nokk, I need my sister right now," I say and try to frost him over so I can climb on. He moves away and whines loudly. "Please Nokk I need Anna right now," I say pleadingly and he gives me a small whine before pushing his muzzle into my hand so I can frost him. "Thank you," I whisper before hopping onto him. Nokk hesitates before starting towards the castle while I wipe away the tears running down my face.
