two months went by and it was now just three weeks away from graduation. i was waiting for a letter from NYU. it was the only college who hasn't sent anything. i got accepted into a few colleges such as UCLA and Stanford but my heart was still set on NYU.

"mails here!"
"thanks mom!" i run outside not even bothering to put on shoes. the mail lady smiles and hands me the mail. i look through but no letter. "still nothing! obviously i didn't get accepted."
"actually my friend Susan's daughter got rejected, her letter came a few weeks after she applied."

"so i still have a chance?"
"honey you just need to believe in yourself."
"I'll try. i have to head to Christina's. love you."
"love you too jade." i get into my car and drive to Christina's house since she invited me over last night so we can go to the mall and pick out our graduation dresses.

"hey chris! we heading out?"
"yeah! bye dad! your car or mine?"
"we can just take mine, I'll drive."
"good call." we get into my car and i drive to the mall.

"so i have big news."
"spill!"
"i got accepted into FIT! I'm going to college jade!" she quickly pulls me into a hug out of excitement. "chris I'm so proud of you!"
"thank you jade, it means a lot. have you heard anything yet?"
"if you're talking about NYU, i haven't heard anything but apparently their rejection letters were already sent out."

"dude that means you have a chance."
"maybe. anyways enough about that."
"so i already picked out the dress i want online."
"no way. dude same."
we get our dresses and leave the mall as quickly as we came in. surprisingly we both aren't huge fans of the mall.

"mom! I'm home!" no answer. she must have left for work early which means im home alone.
i grab a bag of chips and head up to my room to watch netflix on my tv. zach texted me earlier asking to hang out after school tomorrow so that means i have the rest of tonight with absolutely zero plans.
