i walked down the hallway of my school. i push my hair behind my ear with my opened hand, the other one being held by my boyfriend tyler coleman. i walk by a group of five boys that included my ex best friends and my ex boyfriend. my heart sped up as i saw him.

tyler stops suddenly which makes me tear my hand out of his. "sorry i forgot we were stopping at your locker." he lets out a laugh and shakes his head, i blush slightly out of embarrassment. the basketball team walks over, well besides jack who stayed with his friend group.

"hey ty! sup jade." i bro nod back at the team before kissing tylers cheek and leaving the group so i can get to my first period on time.
"jade! jade! jade!" i turn around to see zach running up behind me. "thought i told you not to talk to me. i don't like associating with cheaters."

zach holds something out, "you dropped your keychain back there." i actually looked at the keychain he held out, the half a heart matched tylers that he keeps on his car keys. "thanks. i have to go." he doesn't say anything else so i start walking away. "wait jade!"
"can we talk please?"

"i-i can't zach." he frowns slightly but instantly covers it with a small smile, that doesn't matter because his eyes show all the emotion. his eyes were filled with sadness but I'm not the one who cheated, that was him.

I'd be lying if i said it doesn't still hurt me, I'd be lying if i said i still didn't care, I'd be lying if i said i didn't have a little bit of feelings for him but I'm better off with Tyler and i don't think i could ever be with zach again, not after what he did. i finally start making my way towards the office, im already late to class as it is so i might as well just leave.

"hi I'm jade valentine. im signing out." the office lady gives me a dirty look but once she notices that i obviously was upset she lets me leave for the rest of this period. as soon as i get into my car i drive straight to the nearest coffee shop. "hi, can i get a lemonade please?"

"sure thing sweetheart." the cashier hands me my change. "thank you." she comes back in a few minutes with my lemonade. "have a good day!" she smiles at me as i leave the shop. i get back to the school just in time for second period to start. when i walk in tyler gives me a strange look but doesn't say anything.
