i walked away from jade, i knew if i stayed I would've gotten even more mad than i already was. i get that it's not her fault they sent her letter to the wrong person but we made a plan. we were going to move to California and now that's not happening.

that isn't a big deal though, i know we can survive the distance. it's the fact that she talked to tyler about it before she talked to me. i know they're friends, i completely understand but it's not his business. "zach! can we talk?"
"kay?"

"are you okay?"
"not really."
"what's wrong? tell me about it."
"it's just jade."
"oh... you're still with her?"
"yeah. i am, i think?"

she shrugs, "do you want to go to like a park maybe. and talk?"
"you know what, that sounds great."
"my sister drove me so we can take your car."
"okay." we get into my car and i start to drive towards the park.

"so what happened with jade?"
"well we made a plan for after high school. we were going to move to California together and she was going to go to UCLA."
"then what?"
"well um she got accepted into NYU and then she talked to tyler about what to do!"

"well what did she decide?"
"I-i don't know."
"it sounds like she isn't going to California."
"wait really?"
"obviously. she wouldn't have even thought about going."
"i guess you're right."

"but California does sound really nice. she's missing out."
"yeah. hey i have to get home so i should probably drop you off."
"ok."

i drop her off at home and drive back to my house. i walk inside and see my mom and jade in the kitchen. "jade? what are you doing here?"
"i wanted to talk to you. you're mom didn't know when you were coming home."

"we can go outside. be back in a couple minutes mom." i hold the door open for jade to step through the door first. "sure you don't want to talk to tyler?"
"zach i don't want to talk about him. we're supposed to be talking about us."

"have you opened the letter?"
"no! i want to talk to you about it!"
"it seems like your decision's made or else you wouldn't have even thought about it."
"you're being so unreasonable!"
"kay didn't think it was unreasonable."

"excuse me? you talked to kay? oh my god- is that where you were?"
"so i can't talk to kay but you can talk to tyler? how's that fair?"
"i never cheated on you with tyler. you know what zach, i'm done."
"what do you mean?"
"i'm done with us zach. i have to go."
with that she leaves. she just broke up me.
