another week went by which means another week closer to graduation. the boys finally released their music and already it's a hit. i can already tell they're going to be famous and i am so proud of them especially zach.

"one more week. can you believe it?"
"no! it's absolutely crazy but im glad im with you."
"me too jade. i love you."
"i love you too." we caught up with the rest of the group and made our way to our lockers.

the school day went by and i headed straight home since everyone was busy after school. i got home and my mom was sat in the kitchen. "jade! im glad you're here, something came for you!" i walk inside the kitchen, she was holding an envelope. "from who?"
"NYU! apparently they accidentally sent it to the wrong jade."

"wait mom please don't be joking."
"I'm not and they said that their offer still stands even though the deadline ended."
"i have to open it!" she hands me the envelope and i go to open it. then i begin to think. what about zach? i already said i was going to UCLA to be with him.

"what's wrong?"
"its just- what about zach?"
"honey it's not your fault the letter got mixed up. I'm sure he'll understand."
"but i already made the commitment."
"you'll never know until you talk to him." she smiles at me and congratulated me before she leaves the room.

i stare at the letter, should i even open it?
i take it up to my room and place it on my desk.  a few hours go by and i still haven't opened it. i finally decide to go to bed, maybe it'll help me decide what to do.

it didn't. i walked into school and met up with the group, "hi guys!"
"hey jade! you okay?" i nod, "i just didn't get any sleep." daniel rubs my shoulder, "you could go home you know?"
"yeah thanks daniel but I'm okay."

i walk into first period and sit at my usual seat. "hi jade."
"oh hey tate."
"thanks for talking to tyler. obviously nothing happened but it was nice of you to try."
"oh it's fine but what ever happened with you and jonah?"
"oh we just didn't work out. homecoming was a blast though."

"ah." after that i turn back to the front of the room, i spaced out but when i spaced back in the class was over. "jade! wait up!"
"hi tyler."
"are you okay because you were spaced out that entire class."
"didn't get sleep last night."
"jade i know it's not just that. you can talk to me."

"okay fine but you can't tell anyone this. especially zach."
"not like i talk to him anyways." i look around and make sure zach wasn't around. "so you know how ive been waiting for NYU?"
"i know that you thought of going there. i didn't know it was like a dream school."
"it caught my eye as soon as i started looking at colleges."

"so what's the problem?"
"well they never sent anything and finally i decided to just go to UCLA and be with zach in California but now i found out that they sent my letter to a different jade. it came in the mail yesterday."
"so they accepted you?"
"i actually never opened it."

"and now you want to go but you already committed to UCLA."
"exactly and i want to talk to zach but i'm going to feel so bad about not being with him."
"yeah but jade this is your future. I'm sure you two will still be together after college."

"what if this breaks us up?"
"you're going to have to take that chance. i can't decide for you but jade you need to talk to him."
"thanks tyler. you're such a great guy."
"thank you jade."
he pats my shoulder before leaving me standing in the hallway. i was beyond late so it's a good thing i only had a study hall.
