I hadn't seen Evan in a while. Not since that weird thing he did that day with Connor. I guess it had been around a week. Okay, it had been 8 days, 16 hours, and 24 minutes since I last talked to Evan. He seemed to be ignoring me, which was definitely not like him, considering I knew I was his only friend. Other than Connor. Clearly that's over now though.
I saw him walking down the hall and ran up to him. A little desperate? Maybe. Did I care at this point? Nope.
"Hey, Hansen!" I wrapped my arm around his neck. He turned and looked my way, but he didn't smile. His face was inches from mine, but it showed no interest.
"Jared." This made my smile fall. No emotion in his voice. He didn't care that I was there. In fact, my presence seemed to annoy, possibly anger him. What had I done? Why was he acting this way?
"Ev, are you okay?" He looked at me again, something was different this time. Hurt?
"Don't call me that, Jared." He removed my arm from his shoulder and walked quicker, to leave me behind.
I stopped and stared after him. What the hell just happened?
