The scene was set. I couldn't see Jared because I was inside the house. He should be waiting down at the end of the walkway, however, knowing Jared it is entirely possible he's hanging from a tree or something and is going to swoop down like a bird after I walk up there. He's unpredictable, the opposite of what I like, but somehow we work. Opposites attract I suppose.

The sweet, slow song plays as my cue. My mom is standing by my side in a beautiful dress. She smiles proudly with tears filling her eyes. "Ready, Evan?" She asks holding her arm out for me to take.

I took one last look down at myself. A black tux, a light blue tie, my hair was in place, everyone was waiting. Everything is perfect, could that really be? After all this time, could everything finally be falling into place?

"I'm ready, Mom," I take her hand and I walk out the door, looking down at my feet to give myself an extra few seconds.

I look up and my world stops. Jared is standing at the archway, and he's so beautiful. He's smiling a gorgeous smile at me and everything is perfect. We inch closer until we are halfway down the isle, then I hear the worst sound I ever could have imagined.
