(Jared)

When he slammed the door in my face, I sighed. What had I done? I pressed my forehead against the door, hoping he'd open it again, but he didn't. I shouldn't push him. Evan would never speak to me again, not after that.

Tears poured down my face as I walked back to my car. I started it and cried all the way to my house. When I got home, nobody else was there, as usual. So I went up to my room, grabbed the razor in my bathroom and cut long strips down my arm. I sighed as I let the tears fall. I sobbed until i heard pounding on the door. I pulled my sleeves down and dried my eyes before going downstairs to open it. I didn't look to see who was there when I opened the door, I kept my eyes on the ground.

When I finally did look up, I saw Evan standing there. He looked exhausted. He was sweaty, out of breath, so terribly out of breath. Did he not have his inhaler? "Evan, d-did you run all the way here? You look like h-hell," I cursed my stuttering in my mind. I reached in my back pocket for the bag I kept there, and then Evan collapsed onto me. He held me for a moment but I quickly felt his grip loosen. I picked him up bridal style, cursing out loud at how bad my wrists stung. I put him on my couch, ran to grab my keys, a towel, and a water from the fridge. Then I picked him up and ran out to my car.

I put him in the passenger seat and poured some water on his face. I checked his pulse and his breathing, both were fine, he was probably just exhausted but I didn't want to take any chances.

"Evan? Come on, wake up for me, Ev," He didn't. I poured more water on him but nothing worked. So I started the car,  cleaned the wounds on my wrists before wrapping the towel tightly around one, and my jacket around the other. Then I hit the gas and quickly drove to the hospital. I parked quickly, and picked him up before running inside, with the water and bag. The receptionist looked at me "He passed out. He has asthma and he ran like a mile, I think without stopping. He doesn't have his inhaler. He's Heidi Hansen's son, is she here?" The nurses eyes widened at the sound of his mothers name, and she shook her head, a few doctors came in and took Evan, while she paged who I assumed was Heidi.

I ran into the room with the doctors, and made sure to stand in the back, but they still kicked me out. I paced in the waiting room for what seemed like hours. Finally, Heidi came out and I ran to her.

"Is he okay?"

"He's okay, he's awake now. He was dehydrated and blacked out from all the running. Evan isn't much of a runner you know. They are releasing him but I have to finish my shift, do you think you could take him home?"

"Of course, Heidi. No problem," I smiled and she hugged me tightly.

"Thank you Jared," Evan walked into the room, his head was down. He couldn't stand to look at me. Of course he couldn't. I noticed now for the first time he had changed clothes. His hair had looked a little better. Did he go upstairs and change before running to my house? Why had he run to my house in the first place?

"Come on, Ev. Let's go," I said softly. He walked up to me and stopped, still looking at the ground. "We'll see you later, Heidi,"

"Alright, bye guys! I love you, Evan!" She said as she walked away.

Evan replied with a weak, hoarse sounding "I love you too,"

I handed him the water from earlier, he took it, but stopped and stared at my arm. I had forgotten about the blood soaked towel. I tried to pull my arm away, but he grabbed it. Finally, he looked up at me. "Jared, what is this?" I walked quickly out of the hospital, but he wouldn't let me walk to the car. He stopped me on the sidewalk as soon as we were out of the door. "Answer me, Jared,"

When I couldn't even look at him, he unwrapped the towel. "Ev, no-"

He sighed when he saw the long marks down my arm. "You need stitches, Jared. Let's go back inside, my mom can-"

"No, Evan. Please. Heidi can't know."

"Why did you do this, Jared?"

We were facing each other, we were standing so close and he looked so beautiful in the moon light.

"You closed the door,"

Evan looked like his entire heart had broken. That sight made me bust into silent tears. He stepped closer to me and wiped away the tears, before his own started falling. His hand lingered on my face, and then his lips were crashing into mine.

It was like the world stopped spinning. At least for a moment. Everything was just him and I. I couldn't hear the birds, or the cars, or the noises from the ER. All that existed was Evan and I. It was us, and only us.

Once we parted, we were both gasping for breath.

"i've been waiting to do that for so long, Jared. I didn't mean to close the door. I was embarrassed. I didn't want you to see me like that, like this. I've been heartbroken for weeks. I went crazy missing you. I-" He stopped talking and pulled up his sleeves to expose the scars on his wrist. We were more alike than we thought I guess, but not in a good way.

"Evy, no. Please don't do that. Don't ever, ever do that. Not ever again. You don't have to worry about me going away, I'm right here, Evan. Always,"

He wrapped his arms around my neck and I wrapped mine around his lower back as I picked him up, spinning him around. Soon we were both laughing and I put him down. I kissed him again, and he kissed me back. We were finally something. Finally more than friends. Finally Evan and Jared, unstoppable. Finally, Kleinsen.
