Sophomore year.

After a summer of traveling, spending time with friends and family, and working it was time to come back to the city.

Alena and I finally made it out of our cramped dorm into a slightly less cramped apartment that wasn't too far from campus.

We really made it our own. We had a pink and grey theme going on plus a lot of knick-knacks that we'd collected over the years.

Life was going really well.

I was better at college than I was at high school, Bradley and I were going strong, and it felt like every day I was able to learn more and more about myself.

Between the partying, studying, and exploring the first semester of my sophomore year went by pretty quickly.

Actually very quickly.

For Christmas, my family decided to switch things up. Instead of staying in California, we rented a cute little cabin in Tennessee for a week.

We got to see the mountains, play in the snow, and catch up with my Mom's side of the family.

For those few days I was in California, I wished that I would run into him but it didn't happen. I wished to run into him on the streets of NYC (on a day I looked cute) but it didn't happen.

It was whatever.

I guess I had to focus on me, myself, and I. And oh, the boyfriend I actually had.

"Do you have a lot of school work?" Bradley asked me as we sat at a local coffee shop

Every Sunday morning, Bradley and I made an effort to come to this coffee shop. It was good for many reasons. We got to catch up on schoolwork, talk to each other, and drink some good ass cold brew.

I motioned my hand, "So so, but I find out what my internship is in two minutes."

Bradley scrambled for his phone, "Shit I almost forgot about that."

Both of us signed up for a random internship for the spring semester. It would look good on my resume and give me something to do.

"Was there a particular one that you wanted?" he asked me as I stirred my coffee

"No. Honestly I didn't even know the choices. They change every year." I answered his question, "You?

He shook his head, "I wish they would send the email already."

"Ugh, I forgot I have to pick up my dress in an hour." I remembered, "I gotta leave soon."

"Dress for what?" he questioned me

I looked up from my phone, "My parents' annual charity ball. Remember? The one you can't come to."

"You know I'm sorry about that. Plus it'd be awkward to meet your parents for the first time that way." Bradley told me, "Plus I have a big test that Friday."

My phone buzzed, "Oh shit they just sent them."

Dear Peyton Keller,
Congratulations! You have been given the opportunity to intern at an up and coming company called Epkic Media in the marketing department. Please email us the time slots that work best for your schedule.

"What'd you get?" I asked Bradley

"Some company called Epkic Media in the marketing or under the lawyer. Apparently I have a choice. What did you get?" he wondered

My eyes got big, "The same thing. I guess options were limited this year or something."

"At least we'll be together." Bradley looked on the brighter side as I packed all of my things up
