I couldn't believe the once shy little girl that was always at my house was a now outspoken a vivacious sixteen-year-old. Even though I hadn't known her my whole life, London was completely and fully my sister.
Tonight, we were going over to my parents' house to have a family dinner before her big sixteenth party birthday tomorrow.
Parker was back at work now so he was just meeting Annie and me there. I kinda had the whole taking care of a small child thing down but it was probably going to get tougher when I started working again.
Annie looked so adorable in her little dress and headband that she would probably rip off in five minutes.
"You look so beautiful my sweet girl." I cooed as I put her into her car seat. "I know you're ready to see daddy."
I gave her a forehead kiss before I gently closed the door and got into the driver's seat. I would always look at the headrest mirror to make sure she was doing well. Like her mom, she always loved car rides.
She was my pride and joy.
Every time we drove to Beverly Hills, we always stopped at a place that was very special and sacred.
"Hi, Ash." I squatted on the ground while Anastasia was asleep in her car seat. "I know we just came on last Saturday and the Saturday before that but I figured it would be good to bring some more flowers. Plus you'd be the type of uncle that would want to see his niece every day."
Parker and I made an effort to go to his grave at least once every two weeks. Now we brought Annie along and introduced her to her uncle.
"She's getting so big." I smiled as I looked at my daughter. "She smiles a lot and she sleeps better. She got our blue eyes - at least for now - and Parker's dark hair."
"Honestly she has our nose but everything else is all Parker." I let out a small laugh.
I placed the white roses in the vase that still had fresh flowers in it. I guess my parents came earlier and they actually bought the plot next to Asher. I didn't even want to think about my parents dying but it was comforting to know that they would eventually be buried next to their son.
"I can't believe the last time you walked this earth Parker and I weren't even together. Now we have a whole ass kid together. Also, could you tell him to hurry up and propose? Wedding planning sounds fun." I went on.
"Annie would've loved you." I smiled. "I know she was sent by you and you knew her way before I did."
Then my phone started to ring.
"Hey, my love." I answered Parker's call. "I'm only about fifteen minutes away."
"I see that you're at the cemetery. Are you good, Ellie?" he asked me.
I nodded my head. "Yeah. I just wanted to bring some flowers and show Annie even though she's knocked out. I got London's gift in the back of my car too."
"Sounds good. Stay on the phone until you pull off." Parker went on.
"Oh and Parker, your mom told me that she would stop by with Dennis." I informed him. "I don't know if you knew."
I could hear him let out a deep sigh. "I'll mentally prepare myself. I love you and tell my daughter that I can't wait to see her."
"You know she loves her daddy and she can't wait to see you." I grinned as I walked back towards my car.
I put Annie into her car seat and made sure she was buckled in. I got into the driver's seat, locked the doors, and started up the car.
"Alright P, I'm in my car and driving." I told him.
