"Signing out early?" Christine asked me as I reached the front desk
After my parents' charity ball, I left that Sunday night and still managed to make my 9 am on Monday morning.
I was clearly trying to get my money's worth out of this college thing.
But good lord I think I put too much on myself this year.
Between all my classes, the internship, sorority meetings, and trying to maintain relationships with people it was a lot.
At least my twentieth birthday was ten days away.
I nodded, "I have school work to catch up for my class later tonight. I don't know I might skip it."
She clicked around on her computer, "I understand. College is definitely not a walk in the park. I saw some pictures of you on Mr. Fitzgerald's Facebook page. Your dress was beautiful."
I smiled, "Thank you, and parker and I had a good time."
"You know most people call him Mr. Fitzgerald." she smirked, "I knew one pretty, young intern would sweep him off his feet one day."
I waved my hands, "Oh no, we're not like that."
"We didn't just meet. I've known Parker since I was in kindergarten, and we dated in high school until he became CEO." I explained to her, "I've known him for so long that his middle name used to be Parker and not Reid."
Christine put both of her hands on her cheeks and leaned in, "Then you really have known him for a long time. I remember when little William used to run around at the other building when he was younger. It's too weird to see him all grown up."
"Yeah, Parker and I go way back." I confirmed, "I'll see you on Tuesday."
"Will do, have a good one." she told me before I walked out of the building
I pulled out my phone and called Bradley.
"What's up?" he answered my call, "I just got to the coffee shop."
"Ok good. I'm about five or ten minutes away." I informed him, "I'm so over econ."
"You and me both. We just have to keep pushing, the semester will be over before we know it. You got this Pey." Bradley assured me which felt really nice
I talked to Bradley on the phone for the remainder of my walk to the coffee shop. We just talked about our day plus it made me feel less alone while I walked.
"Ready to get down to business?" Bradley stood up before he gave me a kiss
"No, but I have to." I sighed as I sat down, "Yes, my favorite coffee."
I took a sip of my ice vanilla latte with extra pumps of vanilla. It never failed to boost my mood.
"Alena and I are having pizza night if you wanna come over." I told Bradley, "We're making it from scratch so it should be interesting."
He nodded his head, "Sounds good, but now we need to focus on our applied calculus and econ."
Bradley was a good boyfriend but he was an even better tutor. He just condensed things in a way that you could understand and make something so complicated sound so simple.
My phone buzzed and it was just Asher calling me.
He was just probably trying to interrogate me about Parker or tell me how our life360 locations we close.
"Who is it?" Bradley asked me
"Just my brother. He's probably with my sister scheming right now. Both of them are in California for his baseball game that I couldn't go to because of this stupid test." I replied as I put my phone down
