SCENE NINE

(CASPER wakes up in a hospital bed. Next to him is TIM, in a full body cast.)

CASPER: Hello? (He tries to get up) Ow. OW OW OW OW OW.

TIM: Feels like youre missing a part of yourself, doesnt it?

CASPER: Tim?

TIM: Hurts like a motherfucker too. Be honest: what are they saying about me at school? (Beat.) That bad?

CASPER: Sorry

TIM: Sorry? Im finally free of that shiny happy hive mind! When I get outta here, the ladies are gonna learn to love the real Timothy Summers. (An epiphany) And the dudes. Oh my god, Im totally bi!

(A beat. CASPER takes him in.)

(HYPNOS enters. For the first time in the play, he is wearing real pants.)

HYPNOS: Casper, are you okay?

CASPER: Actually, Im great--

HYPNOS: Im glad. Because youre grounded. Youre going to see some serious changes, young man, starting (He notices CASPER is grinning) What?

CASPER: Dad Youre wearing

HYPNOS: Dont look so surprised. Im your father. And I wear the pants around here! Now lets get down to business: whos this Shawn, and why did I have to hear about him from Gabe?
