This took a little longer to write and edit. Sigh I am tired I have not eaten since like 9 am its 8pm where I am write now. *sigh* anyways here is chapter 29!
I had been lost in my thoughts as I stared at the unfamiliar and empty scenery flying past me. The wind had been blowing my golden hair from my face and letting me breathe in the thing humans called "air". To me, it was a mystery why we could breathe it and why the humans couldn't, in turn, couldn't breathe in water. That was not something I wasn't going to dwell on for long as I was more interested in the reason why "That skinny ass female human was still staring at my scales!" I exclaimed my thoughts out loud. "Do you want to descale me or some shit, what the fuck is your problem?!" I stared at her with murder in my eyes. The black-haired human had been sitting on top of the truck. She had been staring at me for a while now.
"Ah. Sorry-" The human looked away from me bashfully "it's just that it has been a while since I saw a mermai- mermen sorry, with such pretty scales..." she trailed off as her eyes became lost in the shine of my scales once more. Wait, she had met others like me?
"What does that-" before I could continue though I was rudely interrupted by a certain red-headed fish.
"I know, right! When I first met Bakugou, his scales were what led me to him in the first place." Kirishima struck in out of nowhere, and I was having none of it.
"We are talking about that shitty ha-"
"Oh yeah how did you meet Bakugou, Kirishima?" Mina said, joining in on the ever-growing conversation. I wasn't liking where this conversation was going.
"Hey! It's none of your damn-" I tried to interrupt
"Actually it started when-" Kirishima continued without any care for my defiance.
Ugh
I groaned in annoyance before moving to a corner of the tank I would be disturbed in, nobody bats an eye to my disappearance. I settled down in the corner and continue to gaze at the sun as it slowly sunk beneath the horizon. My eyes had been unable to leave the beautiful view that I had never witnessed before, the warm, bright oranges and yellows that once coloured the sky now slowly faded into a dark blue and purple, with a shade of pink. As time went on the blues and purples became a darker shade, it was so beautiful nothing that I had ever laid eyes on in the ocean. There was always one type of brightness we got in the deep reef was dark or darker. It was what we were accustomed to what we have grown around.
"Pretty isn't it?" I was tugged out of my hazy thoughts. I looked in the direction of where the voice was coming from; it was from the weird black-haired human again.
"What do you want," I spoke rather harshly, trying to hint at my displeasure in having a conversation.
"You are a Coral Fish, aren't you?" I froze from her statement the water I was in feeling a little colder than usual; I was having a harder time breathing than I would have liked.
How does she know? Only a set few know about my breed why does she know?! Is she going to tell them, are they going to turn their backs on me after they find out? How, how do I avoid this confrontation.
"Wh-what are you-"
"From your reaction, the others don't know, and you don't want them to don't you?"
"What do you want?" if there were something she wanted I would give her just as long as she didn't say anything.
"Oh. I am so sorry I didn't mean to come off in a threatening way. It's just that I haven't meant a Coral fish in so long, so I just wanted to confirm. I was also wondering now that I know why you don't tell the others."
