"Hello, This is Ellena. Please leave a message and I'll call you as soon as I can" Ellena's phone kept going back to voicemail. Its eleven PM in the evening and she hasn't yet returned back home. Her parents have been blowing me up with questions that I had no answers to.
"Ellena, it's me again. Amber, please call me back as soon as possible. I'm worried about you. We all are" I called yet again after exchanging gazes with my Mom and Ashanty.
"Ellena if you don't return my calls I'm gonna have to tell your family the truth" I left another voicemail and Mom pulled me closer to her as tears of worry streamed down my face.
Standing behind my chair, my mom squeezed, "Honey, it's okay. She'll be fine" Mom pep talks me.
"How come non of you ever told me about this?" Ashanty questions worriedly holding her hips.
"I promised Ellena I wouldn't tell anyone. I was just respecting her wishes"
"Gosh, I'm your bestfriend Amber! I can't believe non of you trusts me. Even you" She scoffs.
"Girls please let's not argue now. Let's focus on finding your friend. I promise I'll do anything I can to make sure she's okay. But if she doesn't show up tomorrow morning we're gonna have to call the police" Mom deepens.
