"I thought you would take me as I am, but I guess it was all an illusion |Foibe. P"

OF COURSE  the dinner didn't turn out so well, I'm guessing Daren was a lil bit disappointed although he seemed really interested after hearing Ellena's story.

Ellena wasn't buying it though, she felt humiliated. "I mean what did you expect " I mocked her.

"A miracle I guess" She fake laughed and tears streamed down to her cheeks like a river flowing to the desert.

"Ah forget it hun" I pep talked her out of it as I moved closer to hug her.

As we stood outside the restaurant waiting for our ride to pull up on us, we were approached by Charlet and her two puppets.

"Well, Look who we have here, Loser and her tiny gorgeous friend" Charlet giggles and so does the rest of her crew.

"Charlet please not now" I exclaimed.

They both stared at Ellena's sad face and chuckled. "Ah, someone's in the bad mood"

We exchanged gazes but lastly Charlet glanced at Ella up and down and finally teases, "Honey you need to work on your belly, cause you look like you just gave birth in those jeans"

"I can't take this right now!" Ellena held her hands up in surrender and ran off in deep pain.

"Charlet I thought I told you to get a life" I lastly exclaimed and they chuckled teasingly making their way into the restaurant.

"Ellena wait" I yelled running after Ellena who now seemed to be drowning into her sorrows.

There in the middle of the road, Ellena stood, waiting to welcome death into her own lovely arms, to hug it tightly and probably thank it for saving her from the cruel world. Cars spinned around her and my heart felt like it was ripped off my chest and dropped down to my feet. "Ellena what are you doing? Get away from there" I yelled yet again. But she still stood, not responding to me nor moving an inch.

In that moment I felt goosebumps all over my entire body and something flew over to my lungs. Tinkering sensations, Oh sensations spread across my paralyzed body and my heart started to pound very loudly like early New Year's Eve drums.

Suddenly I've reached out to her and hopeless as she stood, I grabbed her by the arm and flew her away from the road. "Are you crazy?" I suddenly reached for my breath.

"I could've been saved from my own demons right now you know. You didn't have to!" she cried.

"I can't believe you're willing to throw away your life all in the name of a bully" I lectured.

Defeated as she leaned on my shoulder, she heavily sighed, "Oh Amber? You have no idea!"

"What did we say about running away?"

"You gave away all your power" She slowly whispered.

"Good. Next time you think of taking away your life, let me know. So I stay away from you " I cried out loud. "Now let's go home."

I was always like her mother, the things I did for her. Her own family couldn't do. Sometimes I just wished, she could do the same for me but she was always in her head. It was always about her and never about me. "Your life's perfect" She would say. "Oh I wish she knew."

A taxi pulled up on us and we rode along quietly. My mood completely changed and I was not about to baby sit a big child anymore.

As I got home, I found Mom in the sitting room, engaged deeply into the daily newspaper.

Suddenly she looked up at me and noticed my heavy face. "What's wrong?" She asks.

"Bad Day" I raised both my brows and moved over to the kitchen to grab a soda.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" She asks yet again raising her focus back to me.

"Not really"

After I made myself comfortable on the Sofa, now speeding through channels on TV, I stole a glance from Mom who seemed to be deeply focused into the daily news. "Mom, why do bad things happen to good people?"

She placed on her worried Mama's face and blankly asked, "Did anything happen to you?"

"No Mom, it's just my friend, Ellena. I feel like she goes through the worst in life"

"Well honey, sometimes it's just life and there's nothing we can do about it."

"Well life sucks!"

She slowly closed her newspaper and removed her glasses. "Amber? Everything happens for a reason. And its unfortunate that we as human beings sometimes don't even understand what those reasons are"

Well I wish I knew. You know Mom, I just wish I could do something you know. I wish I could make her understand that she's enough" I sighed.

"Sweety you're a good friend and sometimes that's all that matters."

I beamed lightly at her, "Thanks Mama"  and made my way to my room. As I inserted myself silently on my bed, I wondered why I cared so much about Ellena's happiness yet alone nobody even cared about my own happiness. Lately not even myself. I guess that's what friends are for.
