I woke up early and went upstairs to apologize to my father. I felt really bad.
"Daddy I..." I began to speak but got interrupted.
"I've decided that it is time I tell you about your mom. I thought I was protecting you but I guess you are 16 now and it's maybe time that I..." He picked up a box of photos from under the table.
"No Daddy I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you." I felt bad. I kinda did wanna know who she was but if he didn't want me to know then it was probably for the best.
"If you can guess which one of these ladies is your mother. I will tell you more about her." He handed me a picture with 5 girls in it. He always tries to make everything a game.
"For real?!" I shrieked.
"Yeah." He said with a sly smile.
"You know..." I began "I was thinking and I would love to go to the studio with you."
"I love you, kiddo." He said, wrapping me in a safe hug.
"I love you Daddy."

"So you can come to the studio next week. It's all scheduled." Dad said, still so happy that I had agreed to go.
"I have some good news too. I found out which one is my mom."
"Oh yeah?"
"It wasn't hard. This one has my eyes and my dimples." I said pointing at a beautiful blonde in the center of the picture. "Plus I know you have a thing for blondes."
"Good skills Cadi."
"Tell me more?" I asked, looking at the picture and laying my head down on the arm of the couch.
Dad told me that he would explain more in the morning and he just wanted to go to sleep.
I took one last look at the photo and whispered "are you my mother".
I knew more. I finally knew more. And I was going to learn more tomorrow. I was so happy I couldn't sleep.
