The man ran back up from the beach waving his hand around with what I assumed was my phone in it. I stood up to walk toward him so I could get my phone, but I got super lightheaded as soon as I stood up. Everything went black.
*******
A bright light was on above me. It burned my eyes. I squinted, trying to figure out my surroundings. A woman came a stood over me. From what I could tell, she was a nurse.
"She's awake!" She shouted out to someone.
I tried to open my mouth to speak but she put up her hands.
"Don't speak!" She ordered, "it'll only hurt you more."
I was so confused. I wanted to know where I was, I was pretty sure it was a hospital, but it didn't feel like it and pretty sure wasn't sure enough for me.
"Can you follow this light for me?" A man said, appearing above me and shining a flashlight in my eyes.
I followed it and the man disappeared again.
Another man rushed in and took my blood pressure with one of those pumps that practically suffocates your arm. Then, he left again.
I wanted to scream. I was going insane. They told me I couldn't talk, but none of them would talk to me. I wanted to know what was going on.
I reached my hand beside me to find a short bedside table. I grasped my hand around whatever was on it. It felt like it might have been a remote for something, but I didn't take the time to look at it. I chucked it as hard as I could. I don't know where it went though, because I was laying flat on my back and couldn't move my neck. But all of the hushed whispers that I could hear before seemed to stop. So, I think I got someone's attention.
A girl appeared beside me. She grabbed my hand.
"You can move?" She asked.
What was she talking about? Why would I not be able to move? I was starting to worry. Where was my Dad? I wanted to see him.
I NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON!
