I watched as three armed cops ran in. One of them ran to arrest her, one called an ambulance, and one came to talk to me. I didn't hear what he was saying to me but I didn't feel like speaking to anyone. I just sat there crying, holding Daddy's hand. Occasionally I would whisper an "It's okay. You're gonna be okay." or "I love you Daddy." But other than that I wasn't speaking.
He almost looked lifeless but his eyes were wide open, staring at me. I could see he was crying. I looked down to see what exactly had happened. I saw the knife. It was in his stomach but it didn't seem to be near any extremely important organs.
The paramedics got there and loaded him on a stretcher. They let me ride with them and they told me he was going to be okay.
We got to the hospital and they made me wait in the waiting room. I was panicking so much. I just wanted to see him. I sat in that chair for about 20 minutes and I cried the whole time. Then, a nurse came up to me and told me she would take me to see him.
We walked down what seemed like an endless hallway. I was trying to gather myself before we got there. I finally stopped crying and wiped away the tears just as we arrived at his door. The nurse opened it and gestured for me to go in.
"Daddy! Are you okay?" I spoke softly, as I ran up to him.
"It hurts. But they said I'm okay." He smiled, but I could see he was in so much pain.
"Good news is she can't have me now. She went to jail."
"Always looking on the bright side. I guess you're stuck being Daddy's girl." (A/N: I hope none of you take that the wrong way. But I had to throw out a disclosure just in case. I don't mean Daddy's girl in a gross way or anything I'm sorry I even have to put this here but I go to school with some gross people.)
"How long are you going to have to stay in the hospital?"
"A week. Mike said you could stay at his house if you wanna."
"Okay. I haven't seen auntie Megan in so long." I said, pulling my phone out and checking the time.
"What time is it?"
"Just after 2." I said.
"Well you should probably get going so you can pack some stuff to take to Mike's. He's gonna pick you up for 4:00 and you're going to go to a movie with them."
"Who's 'them'?" I said, putting air quotes around them.
"Mike, Megan, and Tristan."
"Okay. See ya Daddy, love you."
"Love you too Cadi."
