Changing Perspective -Chapter 13

Chapter 13

"Whoa..." I say.

"I'm gonna take a guess and say that was what made that noise." Dren says. It seems that it was some kind of cave in on the edge of our clearing hidden by some woods. It's  a pitch black cave.

"Should we go in?" I ask, even though I'm going in with or without him anyway.

"I don't know. Maybe there's a way out in there." He says.

"Well, I'm going in!" I say, walking in. I'm still trying to get my ears to go back. Anyway, Dren follows behind me and for a long while we walk in silence in the darkness. Then we turn a corner and I see a dim green-ish light.

"Do you see that light?" I ask.

"Yeah, wonder what it is." He answers. We walk a little farther and there's a little turn. When we turn the corner, I stop in my tracks and Dren bumps into me almost knocking me over.

"Sorry... Whoa." Dren says.

"Yeah.." I say. Right in the middle of the cave is a beautiful blue lake. The dim green-ish dim glow was million of crystals in the walls all over this part of the cave. They're really cool. The water in the lake is totally clear, with a light blue tint. It's so beautiful. I walk closer to  the edge of the seemingly shallow water.

"Well it's not a way ou- Ahh!" I stop in mid-sentence because I've gone falling face first into the lake! As I thought, the water isn't actually that shallow. Sitting down it was at least up to my chin.

"HAHA!! You got wet!!" Dren shouts, laughing like a maniac! I summon my Ember Yo-yo quietly and start swinging it up and down for a second, then I swing it around his arms and pull him into the water with a large splash!

"HEY!! That's no where near as funny as when you fell in." He says crossing his arms.

"Yeah? Well this sure will be!" I say before I splash him with water. This is so weird! I never in my whole few weeks as a Mew, thought I would be swimming, and having fun with Dren! It's insane. Honestly about a week ago, I couldn't stand the guy! What changed? Oh well, we're here, and he's the only one I have now... Might as well have fun. I stand up and so does Dren. I step back and  get a sharp pain in my foot.

"OWW!" I shout, almost falling, but Dren caught me.

"What happened!?" He asked surprised.

"I uh... don't know." I say looking at my foot. Then I realize that I'm still in Dren's arms.

"S-sorry!" I say quickly standing up on one foot, blushing.

"It's alright. What do you think you stepped on?" He asks.

"I don't know, whatever it is I don't see it." Just then I hear a little splashing noise.

"What was that!?" I ask.

"I have no idea." He says. Then I hear tonnes of the little splashing noises.

"OW!" Dren shouts.

"What? OW!" I say, something hits me on the head!

"Something hit me!!" He says, rubbing his head.

"Me too...." I say confused. What is hitting us. Then in the water I see little sparkles. I bend down and put my hand around one of the sparkles and I can pick it up. It's one of the crystals... Maybe that's what I stepped on.

"Dren... I think the crystals are falling out of the ceiling.." I tell him.

"What! I think we should get outta here!! What if the ceiling collapses!" He shouts, sounding sort of panicky

"Alright, lets go!!" I say. Anyway, I'm going slow because my foot still really hurts.

''DREN!! Wait for me!'' I shout.

''Oh yeah, sorry Vanessa!'' He says coming back to where I am. We're out from where the crystals are so we just walk for a while. Then, out of no where, the cave starts to shake and the ground collapses under my feet again!

''AHHH! Dren, help!!'' I yell.
