Riley's POV

I woke up feeling much better than I had before, with no aching in my back and the warmth of a blanket surrounding me. A comfortable pillow under my head instead of my arm. Strange...

Then I opened my eyes as my memories of yesterday evening flooded into my mind. Oh shit. I looked to my side but of course, it was empty beside me. Leuca hasn't ever slept in during the almost three weeks of me being here. Has it been that long already?

He's always up late working and also gets up early to begin his day by... Yeah working. The slaves around here we're workaholics but Leuca was in a different league. Granted he didn't need sleep like humans do, or eat like we do to replenish our energy.

Instead of getting out of bed, I'd enjoy the moment of being allowed in it in the first place. Yesterday was a lot. It was a lot to take in, the pinky promise he made about not hurting me during feeding and never just use his absolute command wrongly as he did to make me scream when he wasn't getting to me with his punishment. I still am quite angry at him for that.

He had healed me and apologized which was quite rare for someone to do, especially a vampire of his status. There couldn't be more pride in that man but he did apologize to a mere human girl. We also...

My face heated up as I thought about it and the image of us sharing our lips came rushing back to me. He was trying to seduce me! But at the same time, those pesky pheromones would probably have driven me to go even further than that and he stopped me from going there... I shook my head and just pushed all of it to the back of my mind, I shouldn't think too much about it for it was just Leuca being weird and doing whatever he liked and he probably had a different objective in mind.

I freshened myself up in the bathroom, I was to shower or bath every day after all and that is a rule I can oblige by. Leuca was a neat freak. If I would leave my dirty laundry on the floor he would go mad and he wouldn't stop huffing until I put it in de laundry basket. He also doesn't like it if his pencils aren't in the holder on his desk. If one lays on his desk he immediately needs to tidy it up.

After I had dressed and deemed myself looking pretty good I went downstairs to get me some breakfast. Once again, it was past twelve so it was lunch rather than breakfast. It was quiet at this time and I wouldn't need to worry about running into Leuca's family or nobles at this time. I still thought it was strange that his nobles were at his side all the time, though I could remember from the assassination mission that he had more than just William and Christina. I had yet to see the rest.

And you know how sometimes you say something and it just happens suddenly and you swear it can't be a coincidence?

Well, Jinx!

I opened the doors to the dining hall and was expecting to find it empty so I could have Anthony's lovely scrambled eggs and freshly baked bread but instead, I found Leuca sitting at the head of the table with a few new faces. "Ah, you're up early." Leuca joked.

I rolled my eyes, "just getting me some food." I walked past them all holding my head high until the face of the man on Leuca's right side halted me in my steps.

That blond hair, in a bun, and those blue eyes were something to remember. He was the one who bought Sam! "You..." I pointed my finger to him, instantly seeing many faces of the vampires fall.

Oops, was that disrespectful? "Me?" The blond man acted obliviously.

"Where's Sam?" I demanded, slightly raising my voice and squinting my eyes as to present myself at least a bit threatening. Did I look like a baby tiger opposing a grown one? Rawr, maybe I am but I'll sure as hell will find out where Sam is.
