Leuca's POV

I have been so distracted by a new movement in our community. The witches which have been on my side for hundreds of years and who have been loyal forever to us are now aiding humans. They are using potions and spells to protect them, I know that Lady Althea has been on our side for her whole life and I can't even remember for how many years we have known each other.

We swore an oath to aid each other so why were her minions acting out? Couldn't she control them anymore? I don't know what the deal is so I demanded an audience with her. My fellow Lords have known as well but all are not bothering, I know that witches are very strong and cunning and you do not want to displease them.

I know this from Emily, Amalia's mother. It is because of her that I realized how strong witches can be and it's why I'm the one who is going to try to get to the bottom of this all.

If it couldn't be worse I hadn't drunk a drop of blood from the one I long the most for, Riley. I have simply been too busy. But when you say it can't be worse, my first friend and a close friend came rushing into my room. He wouldn't do it if it wasn't important. He knows my room is a place where I can retreat without being disturbed.

Before I  could tell him off he already announced we had a problem. Wyatt is pretty laid back but when it comes to me he's very serious, his loyalty is truly inspiring.

He told me about finding the note and its contents, indicating a spy had infiltrated my home. I knew my dear little pet was sneakily listening as well. It's not like she can do anything about it but because of her heritage, I could not trust her with sensitive information. Though she would find out anyway so now was a good time for her to start listening.

A spy was quite concerning to me, they investigated thoroughly the first time and the hunters then had made it as far as my lounge room. Back then they knew exactly when to strike and when I was intoxicated on alcohol.

Did Riley know? Was she connected to this more than I realized? Both me and Wyatt shared glances and then stared at Riley. She acted like she was vigorously painting but it didn't go unnoticed she hadn't placed a single drop of paint on her palette since Wyatt came in.

She held her hands up when she noticed our judging stares, "it isn't me."

I wasn't quite sure if she is, she's cunning, smart, and stubborn. For a human that is. I had made that ridiculous promise to her, would this moment be justified should I use my absolute command on her?

The note also mentioned Riley, I knew she was close to their current leader. The pesky humans had to have a which on their side, maybe even more. Their leader now knew of Riley's existence. If I was correct then they were romantically involved with one another. I wouldn't have that, she was solely mine.

I took a glance at her while we were going through the contents of the note. When she heard she was mentioned as well a small but noticeable smile was exhibited on her doll face. I didn't like that. Was she happy she was mentioned? Was she thinking about escaping? Surely not, she wouldn't be able to hide a week from me.

"Riley..." I called out for her and heard her heartbeat raise. She tensed up slightly as she approached me. I still found it remarkable how she was strong-minded and didn't fear me. She held her head high and kept being proud even though she's just a mere human. The moment she was in reach  I pushed her straight onto her knees on the ground next to me and grabbed a significant amount of hair to tug her close to my face. She placed her small hands on my knees for support while she grunted from my roughness.

However I could barely call it rough, I had been lenient with her. I have been caring towards her, more so than any other pet, I had owned. Her indiscretion and disobedience just sparked something inside of me.
