I rushed to my dorm room and pulled out my lab coat so I looked at least semi-professional. I pulled my name tag, which has my name on it and student, off of the coat and threw it to the side.

I had no idea for how long that potion would work so I had to be quick just to be sure. I calmly walked down the stairs, acting as if nothing was going on while my heart rate was slowly going down.

I was using breathing techniques I had learned to calm myself. Being in a rush or panic will never aid your situation. Jackson taught me that very well, always be calm.

It was quiet at the square, it was around 7 so most would be eating dinner or they were done for the day. Days end early but start early as well.

I slide the key card against the black square next to the elevator and watch it light up green before the doors opened. I stepped in quickly and closed the doors before pushing the button with RC on it.

I just hope there won't be many researchers present. Or at least not within proximity of Christina or Amalia.

The elevator made that annoying ding sound and the doors opened for me. I actually gulped as I stared into the long white hallway. Okay, you can do this, Riley.

Unconsciously I used a bit more speed in my step than usual until I reached Christina's cell without passing by someone. I did choose the right time, thank you universe.

Her eyes met mine and it was filled with worry for some reason. "You still alive in there?" I taunted her slightly, she deserved it for all the smack she talked.

She nodded, "they upped their sedatives, go to her. Leave me." She slurred her words and seemed kinda drowsy but I had thought this over for days now.

If Amalia is sedated too then how the hell am I going to carry her out of her? By myself? I need Christina's senses and strength. "Nope, I need your help getting her out of here. Plus, Leuca wouldn't be pleased if I left you for dead I guess." He specifically had asked me to get them both.

He doesn't seem like the sentimental type but he sees his nobles as part of his family as well. I looked at the door for some kind of keyhole or anything, I was prepared with my pins in my hair but there was none.

"They use cards." She mumbled softly. "It's of no use..."

I whipped the card out of my pocket, "don't underestimate me." I hissed at her, "Riley Hayes is always prepared for anything." I saw the same black square now so I slid it past and miraculously it lights up green and the door slid open.

Christina's eyes were wide as can be as she applauded me for coming so far. I ripped the needle from her arm so none of that sedative can be pumped into her.

The chains, however, were locked with a key, one I didn't have but I did have my hairpins so I could wiggle it in there and pick it. I started with her arms and then her neck, it was quite hard to get these locks to pop open but it worked. "Maybe that's a record." I joked it was probably under ten minutes.

She was completely free but instead of standing on her feet, she fell forwards onto the ground. "The fuck are you doing get up!" I hissed at her again, there's no time for this!

"If I could, I would!" She hissed back at me, "I don't see what he sees in you at all." She also mumbled under her breath.

I raised my eyebrows but didn't respond any more than that. "Okay, I have an idea..." I grabbed the hairpin and stuck it to the skin on my arm.

I counted to three and then pushed it in and slightly tore it into myself so a cut was made. A bleeding one.

I knelt next to her and directed my arm to her, "this should speed up the healing process." She wasn't shy and immediately placed her mouth on the cut.
