A hand slammed on the desk, making my body shiver and I shrieked. Leuca's eyes were filled with fury, his gaze was piercing through me. "Where do you know this man from?"
"You scared the crap out of me, Leuca! I yelled at him and punched his arm, my heart was beating quickly.
Only now I truly comprehend I had been drawing Ryan, how utterly stupid. My mind just wandered to him and without realizing I had been drawing his face. Leuca was fuming, did he know now? Should I just act stupid and lie about being present during the mission meant to assassinate him?
Fuck...
Suddenly his hand was around my throat, blocking my airway right away. He pulled me up and smashed me into the nearest wall. My hands wrapped around his wrist, my eyes pleaded to let me go.
How dumb I had been to lower my guard, he was a vampire. He'd said before he wouldn't hesitate to kill me. Did I actually think he cared even the slightest just because be gave me pizza and chocolate? And now he was choking me.
His eyes widened and he slowly placed me down and lessened his hold around my throat. He didn't release me but at least I could breathe. "Why do you know that man? Who is he to you?" He seemed so angry.
I was thinking about what to answer, he would know if I'd lied. I shouldn't lie but I couldn't reveal one of my trump cards. If he knows I was part of that mission, he would know I know the inside and out about this mansion and the land surrounding it. I knew the blind spots to escape this place, it was how we entered that time as well.
Leuca is intelligent, he would know exactly.
I wasn't replying to his question fast enough so he pulled me from the wall only to push me back into it, hardly. I grunted, "fuck, Leuca..."
"Answer me!"
"Okay, okay!" I bit my lip and looked him in the eyes, his blue eyes flickered to bright red sometimes, I'm so dead. "I was part of the mission to assassinate you, I was captured here!"
His eyes widened and then squinted, "And what is that man to you? I remember his face, he was quite skilled. At least for a human." He added a chuckle at the end, he found us pathetic after all. Though that was probably the best praise you could receive from a vampire.
I gulped, "my boyfriend?" I looked away and closed my eyes, I waited for him to tear my head off or my arms or something! But it didn't happen.
"Your boyfriend?" He repeated and started laughing. He stopped suddenly and tightened his hand around my throat again, all this time it was just resting around my neck. He didn't squeeze it as much a first though so I could kind of breathe.
My body needs oxygen for heaven's sake.
He leaned in close, his eyes now weren't flickering red anymore. No, they were shining terrifying red. Somehow his eyes represented his emotions when he is excited or angry but he seemed different now. Sure he still was angry but Leuca was angry most of the time. "You don't have a boyfriend anymore, you're exclusively mine." He spat at me.
"Your mission failed, as you realized already. Though for your honesty, I'll reward you..." He leaned in close so his mouth was almost touching my ear, hell I could feel his lips touch the shell of my ear as he spoke. "He unfortunately escaped."
I let out a breath of relief, thank God he was alright. He made it out and was probably leading everyone right now. Would he be missing me? "Does that relieve you?"
I nodded, "it does, were many killed that day?" I asked, I didn't want to know but I did. Was I lucky for just being caught or rather unlucky?
He silenced momentarily, "around fifteen, I didn't count. How many were there then?" He asked it was only fair of me to answer. He answered my questions as well.
