Leuca's POV

Althea has always taken a particular liking to me. It was always to my advantage for she would do whatever I would ask of her. The downside was she had a claiming personality and she never gave up on becoming my partner. We have shared the bed in countless situations but she always knew I also had sex with humans.

She didn't like it but she knows she can't control me. She has tried to give me a love potion before but I can smell it instantly when something is put inside my drink. I had gotten so angry back then that I didn't see her for years until she begged me to forgive her. I did, only for a favor.

That favor was that witches were to stay outside of vampire's business. So when we did take over from the humans they were not to interfere and thus our current situation. She couldn't possibly control them all, I know that but that some had the nerves to aid humans and go against me pissed me off to no end.

I hadn't seen Althea for quite some time, I was too busy to travel but now it was urgent. I had found out humans were aided by witches, I had suspected it but it was confirmed now.

We would have dinner together to talk things through and fabricate a plan. I walked into the dining hall, Althea was already present and sat in her usual spot. Her green eyes watched me closely as I sat down in the set right to her. "You're looking gorgeous as usual," I said to her, flattering her.

She smiled as I complimented her and then waved her hand, "ignition." She said and immediately the torches were lit by her spell. The candles on the table were now flaming as well. She had created quite a romantic atmosphere. "I'm glad you're here again, Leuca." She reached out so I could grab her hand and hold it. "I did miss you."

I chuckled, "I have been quite busy."

"Busy with what?" she paused and then squinted her eyes at me. "Keeping pets?"

"That too, amusement is more accurate. I have been trying to track someone aside from my duties as Lord, I am dealing with a spy and a disobedient huntress at my side." I sighed, it all was quite tiring but entertaining at the same time.

Our first course was served while we continued, "I can help you with a tracking spell? Also for that spy. The girl is your responsibility. I don't even understand why you'd keep such a danger to your side." She pulled her hand back so she could start eating.
