For the past week, me and Ashton have been living in a fancy hotel outside of town. My parents called everyday telling me to come home and that my behaviour was unacceptable. They knew about me and Ashton, everyone did.

I was standing at the window when my phone rang. I looked over to Ashton who was getting dressed and he mumbled, "Talk to them."

He threw me my phone which had been sitting on the bedside table for the past week. I caught it and immediately answered, "Hello?"

"Rachel," my mom sounded stern, "Please come home? It's your birthday tomorrow. You're an adult tomorrow. Come on, come home."

"No. No I won't. You know why? Because the second I get home, you will probably just lock me in my room and tell me that I'm not to see ashton again," I replied.

"He's your teacher!" She yelled, "You might think that you're in love but you're not. You might think that you're going to stay with him but you're not. Rachel, face the reality. You aren't going to get married and have kids. You will break up. I may not know him but I already don't like him. You're both irresponsible. Get yourself home right now."

"Don't you dare tell me that Ashton and I are a dead end relationship," I growled, "Okay, we may not last forever but for now, I know that I love him and he loves me too. Goodbye mom." I hung up.

I walked over and sat across Ashton's lap as he sat upright at the edge of the bed. His arms wrapped around my waist as mine rested around his shoulders. I whispered, "We're leaving tonight at midnight. I can get tell my parents to meet us somewhere so they go there and we can go to mine and get my stuff. I'm technically an adult from midnight."

He smiled at me as he softly kissed my forehead, "You're crazy. Too bad, I'm crazy. We're the perfect combination."

We got it all sorted. My family was meeting me and Ashton in some restaurant up north. Ashton booked some nice hotel in a small town somewhere. We were all set.

We were parked outside my house. We had been to Ashton's and gathered all his belongings he needed. I gave Ashton a nod and we both got out of the car.

We walked up the driveway hand in hand. I pulled my keys out my back pocket and unlocked the door, pushing it open. Ashton said, "We should probably be quick."

I ran upstairs, trailing Ashton along. We ran into my room and immediately split up to get the job done quicker. He ran over to the chest of drawers with little things like socks and stuff in them.

I grabbed a sports bag from my wardrobe and threw it on the bed. Ashton walked over to the bag, putting lots of panties, bras and socks in. He walked over to the wardrobe, "I'll do clothes. You can do little valuables or toiletries or something like that."

I walked over to the shelf beside my door and took a photo down from it. My hand traced over the slightly dusty glass. It was a photo of me, Ryan, mom and dad. We were all laughing as we posed for a photo. On the back of the frame was written 'dad's birthday 8/6/12'. I smiled and walked over and set it in the bag.

Half an hour of stuffing the bag with clothes, tampons, makeup, valuables and anything else I wanted, I was ready.

I had taken something from each member of my family as a reminder of them. From my mom, I took an old perfume of hers. If my childhood had a smell, it would be this perfume.

From my dad, I took an American football jersey that he always wore and loved.

From Ryan, I took a sweater off him. It was one he let me wear when I ran out of clothes on our camping holiday in the summer.

Ashton laced our fingers together as we stood at the door, just simply looking around my house. He took my bag from me and smiled, "Ready?"

"Ready," I leaned up and kissed his lips.

He lead me outside and I locked the door. I threw my bag in the back along with his bag. I took my seat in the passenger seat as he sat in the driver side.

He saw me shivering and he took my hands in his and brought them to his lips, blowing warm air into them.

He started the car and said, "I can't believe we're going to do this."

"No going back," I smiled as I leaned my chair back.

"Mine?" He placed his large hand on my thigh and squeezed gently.

"Yours," I smiled.

He said, "Forever and always."
