Clark walked into the bedroom, he sat down on the edge of the bed, she lay in the center the only thing telling him she was alive was her breathing. It had been almost three weeks since she had fallen into her version of a coma, Bruce was there daily bringing more blood that they would give to her. Both men now waited for her to wake. Clark looked toward the door and walked into the livingroom.
"Hey Bruce."
"Still nothing?"
"No, it's been almost a month. Her arms have healed, everything has. Her skin almost glows when sunlight hits it, I forgot to close the curtains the other morning and she started to actually smoke. Have I lost her Bruce?"
"No, Katherine is strong and has lived a long time, this last encounter just took allot out of her. Don't you have to work?"
"Yeah, you going to stay with her?"
"Yeah I will, Diana said she would come and sit with her if needed."
"Thanks." Clark said, he was looking toward the room.
"Go to work, I will stay with her."
"Alright." Clark said heading into the bedroom, he looked toward the bed and headed into the bathroom to shower and change. Clark stepped from the bathroom in a suit and held the glasses in his hand. He walked to the bed and kissed her forehead.
"I'll be back." He said to her, he walked into the livingroom again.
"I'll be back in a few hours."
"Clark, she's fine. I will keep an eye on her."
Clark nodded and headed out the front door, Bruce looked toward the bedroom and lifted the cooler he had and headed into the room.
"He's worried about you, I guess it's time to wake. Your wounds have healed. I need you to wake before he gets back." He said to her, he still saw that there was no movement from her, he put one of the blood bags to her mouth and squeezed the liquid down her throat. Bruce emptied at least six bags before he closed the cooler and headed from the room. He had to call Diana, in a weird way it was like everyone that knew who Clark was, was willing to help with Katherine.
Clark landed on the balcony of his apartment and opened the sliding door and walked in. He looked toward the bed and saw that her clothes had been changed. He walked into the bathroom to put on regular clothes and stepping into the next room.
"Hello Diana." Clark said seeing her sitting on the couch.
"Yes she is fine."
"I know I saw. I also saw she has been changed l."
"Yeah I did that.'
"Thank you, I've got it from here."
"If you need us we are at Bruce's."
"Thanks."
Diana smiled and turned and headed out the door. Clark sat down and sighed. He had no idea what to do, she hadn't moved or opened her eyes.
Clark was tired and headed into the bedroom. He moved Katherine so her head was resting on his chest. He held her close and closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. His eyes snapped open when he felt the soft touch of fingers on his face. He looked down in to the black and gold eyes of Katherine.
"Katherine."
"Hey, you look like you've seen a ghost."
"No, you have been unconscious for the last three weeks."
"I frightened you. I told you before I will not leave you."
"I thought I had lost you."
"I've lived a long time I'm not going anywhere." She told him. He leaned over and kissed her lightly on the lips and held her close to him.
Clark sat up gasping for air and looked around, Katherine lay next to him unmoving. He sighed and slid from the bed and walked out onto the balcony. He looked toward the dark sky and saw a familiar symbol against the clouds. He sighed and walked into the room and then out to the livingroom toward the kitchen, he made a pot of coffee and sat down on the couch. Clark never turned the tv on anymore, it wasn't that he didn't need to, it was he didn't want to. He dealt with enough of what was going on with being on the paper and being who he was. He looked over at a picture he had of him and Lois together, his mom was as heart broken as he was when she died. Clark had yet to tell her about Katherine, they had no pictures, nothing. He needed to get some sleep, he lay on the couch and drifted off to sleep.
