Katherine opened her eyes and noticed they were still in the throne room. She looked over at Clark, his blue eyes locked with her oynex ones.
"You alright?"
"Yeah. What do you think they are going to do?"
"From what I have seen Kal-El, short of sacrifice, I have no idea. I didn't know there were others in Metropolis or in Gotham."
"We aren't from here my queen. When we found that you had been found we assembled but had to wait until after your creator was finally gone."
"So now what?"
"Your final appearance my queen then you and your king will be taken to your chambers. Until the full moon."
"What about the moon?"
"Your powers will be at their peak as they were the day he changed you, and again the day you cursed him."
"My powers are gone. The day I cursed Nikolas I gave up my powers. It nearly killed me casting such a spell."
"Your powers remain my queen they are just dormant. We will bring them forth."
Katherine growled and pulled against the chains.
"If my powers were still here do you think I would live like the demon I am? Your a fool." Katherine hissed, she looked as men and women entered the chamber, all dropped to their knees and lowered their heads.
"Welcome brothers and sisters, our queen and her king await your tributes."
"Highly unlikely." Katherine stated. She was still very weak, and she could tell even though Clark was conscious he was weak.
"Come my brothers and sisters feed."
Katherine knew what he meant as men came from either side and grabbed her arms, again the dagger was pushed into her skin and ran it up her arms eliciting a scream from her. Clark was surprised when several of those gathered almost pounced on her. This time their feeding from her was painful, it felt like hot coals in her skin. Her arms were free and she threw one across the room while grabbing another bringing them to her, she sunk her fangs into him and drank him dry, another came at her and she did the same. Her strength was returning as she finally stood, she reached out and grabbed the man with the needle and broke his arm in half. An almost evil smile crossed her face as she grabbed the head of the cult, she tore his cloak away so she could see him.
"You are a foolish human. Believing that someone as ancient as I am will ever allow anyone to do as you intended."
Katherine extended her arm and the remaining members in the room screamed in pain.
"I knew it." He said looking into her eyes. Katherine pulled him closer to her and looked into his eyes.
"Your followers will be dead before the next sunrise. I will end you for what you have done. I warned all that he was off limits. You chose your death."
"You won't kill me, not in front of him."
"Its fine with me." Clark said suddenly. Katherine smiled and swung her free hand and broke the throne into pieces, she grabbed a piece and drove it into the mans chest, the look of surprise on his face as he gasped, she then turned and threw him across the room impaling him on the far wall. Several of the followers stood, she just looked at them as she slowly walked down the steps one at a time slowly.
"You said you had no more magic." One said reaching for her, she looked down and snapped her neck.
"You were foolish for following one that knew nothing about me. You will not get the chance to make that mistake again."
Clark looked toward her and was surprised and shocked when she extended both arms and everyone but him damned near exploded. Katherine looked at him and moved her hand and the chains on his arms released and he didn't feel the kryptonite any longer, he moved to her side as her eyes rolled back and he caught her as she passed out.
"Katherine? Katherine." Clark said as he finally lifted her into his arms. He could see the wounds on her arms were still bleeding, he took the odd crown off her head and tossed it along with the one he had. He looked up and was startled as Bruce entered the room.
"I am guessing this was her?"
"Yup, I don't know how, blood was running from the wounds on her arms but she still continued, as the way I see it, the slaughter."
"They hurt you, that was all the excuse she needed. She loves you."
"I know, I don't want to see that side of her again. But let's get out of here, she'll need blood."
"I'll get some from the blood bank. Take her to my house."
"Bruce."
"I am not saying your place isn't safe. I just have everything needed if she loses it."
"I'm taking her home, meet me there." Clark said as he headed out of the room, passing more dead as he continued his way out of the large house, once outside he took to the sky and disappeared from sight. Bruce shook his head but went to get the blood that would be needed to help Katherine.
Clark landed on his balcony and headed inside, he looked at her arms as he lay her on their bed. The bleeding had slowed but not stopped, he knew she was unconscious and used his head vision to close the wounds, he knew they would heal but he wanted to stop the bleeding. He changed, and removed the dress she was wearing, putting her in loose sweatpants and sweatshirt, he lay on the bed with her head resting on his chest as his fingers moving through her hair.
It had been several hours before she awoke, he was now sitting in the other room talking to Bruce. Clark turned as she stepped unsteadily into the room, he hurried to her side to help her walk into the living room so she could sit down.
"These will help." Bruce said handing her a cooler. She flipped it open and looked inside, she nodded and took one from the cooler and sank her teeth into it draining it quickly. She set it down and looked at Clark and then Bruce.
"What?"
"Your powers?"
"I never said they were gone I just said I don't use them. But you are alright Clark?" She asked touching his face gently.
"Yes I am fine. You scared me." He admitted, he could see the sadness that now shown in her dark eyes.
"I'm sorry." She said leaning against him.
"They pushed you and you finally snapped." Clark told her, Katherine nodded but sighed.
"Yeah, something I never wanted you to ever see."
"I know. But you had to do what you did. Just because I said I would never take a life. Taking a life is something that is part of who you are." He said to her. Katherine smiled weakly, she was still very tired.
"You don't look good."
"I have never used my magic like I did, and never while having barely fed. I'm just very tired."
"Then rest."
"I will." She said sleepily.
Clark held her close as she adjusted on the couch with her head resting on his lap. Bruce in the entire time he has known her had ever seen her look so for a better word looked sick.
